Activities at Cadbury Hall Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula James

Activities Coordinator

Hi Im Paula and I am the activities coordinator for Cadbury Hall,

As a local lady, I have a lot of connections within the community, which will support our residents in getting out and about.

I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years, and I intend to bring my wealth of experience to the role to ensure our residents get the best experience possible in their golden years.

My passion is spending time with residents, as they are full of life, fun and laughter and no two days are the same.

Life at Cadbury Hall Care Home

Cadbury Hall enjoys Art Experience

Cadbury hall was treated to another chance to welcome Annabel, a Yr10 Art student back to visit and host a second art session by popular demand with local residents, staff and a young man who was on his half term. The watercolour paints and paintbrushes were out in force and by the end of the session everyone seemed very pleased with their paintings too.

Cadbury Hall enjoy a bowls experience and a cream tea

We were delighted to be invited to visit Yatton Bowling Club yesterday for a fun introduction to the sport. The club welcomes all age groups and we were given such a friendly welcome. Residents and staff were kindly given some much appreciated private tuition by the Club Captain Trevor and another experienced club member, also called Trevor as we began to learn how we should release the bowls as well as to judge how fast to bowl onto what is a beautifully kept green. We would really recommend giving bowls a try. The afternoon was finished off in real style with a wonderful cream tea and it was so good of Alison, Elaine and Nicky to organise everything including tea and coffee for us to come along. We certainly plan to return!

A trip to the Flight Lounge Café Bristol Airport

We were excited to set off for the The Flight Lounge at Bristol Airport today for morning coffee, Victoria sponge cake and as it turned out a number of deluxe hot chocolates too as you can see. Our resident Family Ambassadors, Philip and Jacqui kindly suggested the trip where we were able to see a number of aircraft on the move and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. It was also interesting to learn about the clever layout of the runway, allowing efficient taxiing or take-off using the same two runways whatever the wind direction. I am sure we will be returning soon!

Cadbury Hall at The North Somerset Show

Cadbury Hall at The North Somerset Show

It was always going to be an early start but members of the Cadbury Hall Team, including Emma, Tash and Richard as well as number of their children couldn't wait to set up a Barchester, Cadbury Hall stand at the North Somerset Show this Bank Holiday the 1st. After our minibus was rescued from a muddy approach, we were directed to our pitch. Before long we were soon joined by Helen and were delighted to receive a number of enquiries as well as to hand out goodie bags to members of the public and children passing by. There was a chance to introduce ourselves to others with trade stands and to see farm animal prize winners parade past including cattle and sheep. There were dog trials, steam engine exhibitions and so much more on what turned out to be a lovely sunny afternoon.

Hug the Home with Bunting at Cadbury Hall

We at Cadbury Hall were delighted to visit Yatton Infant School Yatton C of E Junior School last Friday to present prizes to all the winners of our "Hug the Home" and our "colouring in bunting competition". We had a wonderful response from all the children that submitted an entry which meant that handing out the Easter egg prizes to all the winners was such fun to do. We were lucky enough to have one of our much adored residents, Ann to present the prizes while Philip, our Family Ambassador was also able to be with us to join in the fun.

Judging our very own "Hug the Home" Bunting competition

Residents, families and staff gathered together with much anticipation to judge our "hug the home" with bunting competition. Everyone was amazed by how wonderful every child's creative artwork is, that has been sent in, which has made choosing the winners very tricky indeed! We are delighted to say that Theo has won the pre-school prize category and we are going to arrange to visit all the children at Yatton Infant School and Yatton C of E Junior Road to announce more winners as soon as they are back at school after the Easter break. Watch this space!
