Activities at Cadbury Hall Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hannah Lewis
Hi, my name is Hannah and I am the Activities Coordinator at Cadbury Hall.
I studied ‘Creative Expressive Arts, Health and Wellbeing’ at university and am passionate about using the arts to aid people’s social, physical, and mental wellbeing. In my spare time I love to dance, sing, and act, and help to run a local drama group for children aged 10-18.
With the support of all staff at Cadbury Hall and feedback from residents, we aim for a varied and person-centred activity schedule to help the residents lead rich and fulfilling lives. The best part of my day is seeing the residents get stuck in with the activities and looking at the smiles on their faces.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Nigeria Week- Diversity and Inclusion
This week at Cadbury Hall, we proudly celebrated the rich diversity and vibrant culture of Nigeria, curated and delivered by Felicia, one of our dedicated carers. With a cameo role from her daughter, the event featured everyday traditional outfits that truly brought our celebrations to life.
A Delightful Culinary Experience
Lunch was a highlight, with Felicia and Chef Evie collaborating to prepare mouth-watering dishes that included Jollof rice, chicken, plantain, and the beloved puff puff. Residents enjoyed these authentic flavours, with some even taking delicious leftovers home for supper!
Throughout the week, we explored the beautiful heritage of Nigeria. Residents learned about traditional greetings, wedding ceremonies, and the language, all while enjoying a virtual tour of popular destinations in Nigeria, including Abuja and Lagos.
Many residents shared their own connections to Nigeria. Andrew and his wife, who lived there for several years, reflected on special memories, while Molly’s family enjoyed traditional dishes for lunch on day of admission for respite stay with us.
The celebration wasn’t just about food; it was filled with music and movement. Residents joyfully danced and sang along, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy. Carer Paul, who recently returned from a Nigerian wedding, eagerly shared his experiences and can’t wait to showcase the photographs.
Felicia expressed her pride in sharing her cultural heritage, and we are delighted to see how fully our residents embraced each day of this vibrant celebration.

General Manager Audrene said - World Day for Cultural Diversity, held on the 21 May, is a United Nations sanctioned observance day for the promotion of diversity and intercultural dialogue. The aim of the event is to reflect on the importance of cultural diversity and how it enriches society, both culturally and as a driver of global development. It also promotes dialogue between people of different cultures, so everyone can work together to achieve important goals including peace and sustainable development.
At Barchester, we value the cultural diversity within our homes, hospitals, and support staff.
At Cadbury Hall, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diverse cultures are celebrated, enriching our community and giving everyone the chance to learn and grow together.

Every Dog has Its Day
At Cadbury Hall, we embrace all your friends—human and furry! We are delighted to introduce Bane, our charming new addition.
Bane was born on February 8, 2025, in Street, Somerset, as part of a lively litter of nine puppies—four boys and five girls. With an English Rottweiler mother and a German Rottweiler father, Bane has quickly captured the hearts of everyone at Cadbury Hall. Now, after two months in his new home with our Head of Maintenance, Paul, he is settling in beautifully.
Bane enjoys playful antics with his older brother Harry, a ten-year-old Lakeland Terrier. Currently weighing 10 kilograms (22 pounds), Bane is growing fast—adding about a kilogram each week! During his three visits to Cadbury Hall, he has charmed residents and staff alike with his friendly demeanour and playful spirit.
Resident’s love watching Bane grow, often commenting on how big he’s getting. He thrives on cuddles and enjoys playing with his toys, bringing joy and energy to our community. Bane feels right at home at Cadbury Hall, and Paul is eager to bring him in more often so he can continue to bond with the residents.
We look forward to sharing many happy moments with Bane, our furry friend, as he becomes a beloved part of our Cadbury Hall
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Cadbury Hall care home in Yatton are preparing for National Dog Day – August 26th when will celebrate all the wonderful things about man’s best friend.

Faye, a resident said: “I have always had a dog, we had them when I was growing up and they are such good company, I love how funny and loyal they are. They are all such characters.”
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
