Activities at Brook House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

At Brook House residents celebrated St Patrick's Day with a traditional Irish meal, drinks and other activities.

The festive day was celebrated with a variety of activities such as an Irish Quiz and the afternoon live music. Residents enjoyed an Irish coffee and cake.

Decorations were made, themed on the Irish Flag colours and activities were in the lounge and we visited all the residents that couldn't take part so no one was left out.

The Residents were very receptive about the festive day and everyone enjoyed it.

Valentines at Brook House

As a special treat on the most romantic day on the year, Brook House care home has organised a special Valentine's Day treat for residents, their friends, and their loved ones.

Every year, the day brings up mixed emotions for some of our residents who have sadly lost their partners, so it's nice to still celebrate with people who care about them.

Care staff decorated the lounge and dining room with hearts and balloons and planned a romantic afternoon party complete with love songs and a delicious cake. Our residents say it was lovely, and they are very happy.

Burns' Night Celebrations

Burns Night was celebrated at Brook House today. A tribute to poet and lyricist Robert Burns.

We had a guest singer as well as a visit from Victoria who read some of Burns' poetry and told us about his life in the late 1700s. Following that, we enjoyed some fantastic food, drinks, and, of course cake from our wonderful chef, making for a fantastic fun and informative day.
