Activities at Brook House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Brook House Care Home

Christmas Day

Residents enjoying Christmas Day and received wonderful gifts from our very own Santa. We had a lovely Christmas lunch and plenty of party games and, of course, we listed to the Queen's speech. The home was ablaze with decorations, lights and Christmas carols drifted throughout.

Christmas Decorations

Residents enjoyed making their own Christmas trees and decorations. They also enjoyed baking mince pies and iced buns and cakes.

Virtual Entertainment

We had our first Zoom entertainment session with our very own Ricardo a musician who has been with us for a few years. Residents danced and clapped through the afternoon.

Diwali Celebrations

There were celebrations to wet the appetite of our residents here at Brook House. We dressed in bright coloured Saris, which delighted some of our Hindu residents. We had an array of Indian sweets and and lovely music.

Autumn Activities

Brook House has hosted many events that make living at Brook House rather enjoyable, including Navratri, an Indian festival celebrated ten days before Diwali. Residents enjoyed the colourful festival with traditional dances and an array of sumptuous foods from the Indian sub-continent.

In addition, we celebrated Silver Sunday with great music and games, and fabulous food made by out kitchen team.

Most days are spent doing light exercise yoga, art baking and gardening. Afternoons are spent watching films with fresh popcorn and other bites.

Keeping Busy

Residents are very sociable and enjoy keeping busy. They love our yoga sessions and regularly indulge in our Master Chef afternoons with the other residents all battling to make the best bake or pudding. All love attending our Halloween parties and Diwali celebrations, and join the frivolity of each occasion. There's always something fun going on at Brook House!
