Activities at Braeburn Lodge Care Home

Our dedicated activities team are constantly dreaming up new and wonderful ways to support and stimulate the residents we look after. From trips to crafts, parties to skittles, musical performances and quizzes, we include something for everyone and pride ourselves on including everyone into the fun. We have a brilliant team of volunteers who help us to deliver more trips, support us at events and pop in for a cup of tea and chat. We have pet therapy at least once per week (sometimes twice!) and we take advantage of every school break by holding large scale events that we can invite families with children to. We have been developing ties with our neighbours since we first opened and thanks to this, we have successfully brought together our residents with local churches, choirs, Brownies groups, and schools. Whatever your interests are, here at Braeburn, there's something for everyone.

Dee Tugluer

Activities Coordinator

My name is Dee Tugluer and I am the Activities Coordinator for Braeburn Lodge. I have been working in the care sector for almost a year and half. Prior to my job in the home I worked in the design sector and marketing for over twenty years. I also took a short break from my career to take care of my children and did so some volunteer work for my local community, schools and charities.

I really enjoy working for Braeburn as I have built a good relationship with all our residents. I love to make everyone feel happy and content, and get excited to plan and implement a beneficial Life Enrichment programme for our home.

Life at Braeburn Lodge Care Home

Spreading Cheer

Residents decided they would like to spread cheer across the community and bring a smile to the faces of the local children. They put together bags of bracelets to be hidden around the local community. We have had some wonderful feedback via posts on the local discussion group from the families who have found the bracelets. The residents really enjoyed seeing a smile on the children’s faces.

Vaccination Day

A massive thank you to the lovely ladies at the Deeping Practice, Helen and Denise, for administering the COVID-19 vaccination to the residents and staff of Braeburn Lodge. Thank you to all the staff who have made the responsible decision to have the vaccine!

Flower Power

Residents enjoyed making beautiful floral centrepieces. Susan, our Activities Coordinator has a lot of experience and knowledge about flowers and gave the residents a talk about the different types of flowers and plants whilst they were creating their arrangements.

Italian Day

It is Italian Day at Braeburn Lodge. The residents have been talking about Italy and learning some of the language. They also made some delicious pizzas with plenty of pepperoni!

The Christmas Spirit

Our Braeburn elves have been busy today organising the residents' Christmas party. We have had a fun-filled morning of games, including pass the parcel, Christmas bingo and 'name the Christmas song'. They then all enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch, followed by cheese and crackers.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Our New Visiting Pod

Our brand new visiting pod opened recently, and we were all thrilled to start commencing indoor visiting. This provides safe and secure visiting in the winter months, and we have already had some wonderful feedback of the comfort and care this provides for our relatives and residents.
