Activities at Braeburn Lodge Care Home

Our dedicated activities team are constantly dreaming up new and wonderful ways to support and stimulate the residents we look after. From trips to crafts, parties to skittles, musical performances and quizzes, we include something for everyone and pride ourselves on including everyone into the fun. We have a brilliant team of volunteers who help us to deliver more trips, support us at events and pop in for a cup of tea and chat. We have pet therapy at least once per week (sometimes twice!) and we take advantage of every school break by holding large scale events that we can invite families with children to. We have been developing ties with our neighbours since we first opened and thanks to this, we have successfully brought together our residents with local churches, choirs, Brownies groups, and schools. Whatever your interests are, here at Braeburn, there's something for everyone.

Wreath Making with Jackie!

Last week, as part of our Countdown to Christmas we had a professional Wreath Making afternoon! We had a local volunteer, Jackie who came and ran the activities for us. It was extremely popular and lots of our residents really enjoyed themselves.

Jackie was teaching the residents how to create centre pieces out of foliage, they had a great time learning some new techniques that they can use again in the future

Braeburn's Christmas Light Switch on!

Braeburn Lodge held their first Christmas light switch on yesterday evening and it was a magical experience.

I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to the Deeping Scout group and local children who braved the cold weather to sing some beautiful Christmas carols for our lovely residents and staff.

We are so thankful that we have such an amazing community network. You gave my residents and staff a night to remember and some shed a tear of happiness. Thank you to the kind people of Deeping for all your continued support of the home, we are very grateful.

Braeburn Lodge are celebrating National Tree Day (Christmas Edit!)

We celebrated National Tree Week today by learning some interesting facts about them and interacting in some Tree themed activities, which was finished off with a lovely warm glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.

A massive thank you to Insideout Home Store in Market Deeping for donating the beautiful Christmas tree to us here at Braeburn Lodge, just in time for our Christmas Light Switch on!

Christmas Donations to Braeburn Lodge

The Braeburn Lodge Team went to Home Bargains today to complete the homes Christmas shopping. Today the manager, Jane Lee and activities team went and chose individual gifts for each staff member.

With what has been a very difficult time in social care, the staff deserve to be treated to something special.

I would like to personally thank the management at Home Bargains, Peterborough #homebargainspeterborough for donating some Christmas lights for our light switch on next week. We are so lucky to have some great local businesses that always support us. Thank you from all at Braeburn Lodge.

International Stout Day At Braeburn Lodge

Braeburn Lodge enjoyed celebrating International Stout Day with some fond Stout drinkers!

They spent the Afternoon learning about all things stout and even sampling some! We try to celebrate all of the national and international days at Barchester as part of our residents Life Enrichment.

We developed Life Enrichment Programmes and Activities to help enrich the lives of our residents. I think this one was well liked by some residents more than others!

Arts & Crafts

Residents travelled to The Deepings Library to partake in a painting course with a local artist, Emily Bowers. They did a fantastic job with their artwork, which is now proudly on display at Deeping Lakes.
