Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home

Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.

We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.

Life at Bluebell Park Care Home

A Royal Afternoon tea

In memory of our late Queen Elizabeth, residents have watched the live coverage and enjoyed a very special afternoon whilst reminiscing about Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal family before hosting a themed quiz.

A trip to the cinema

We took advantage of the homes mini bus and took an outing to Derby Quad cinema to watch the movie – Singing in the rain – which had everyone toe tapping along to this iconic film, followed by refreshments before our return journey.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Residents and colleagues at Bluebell joined the World’s Biggest Coffee morning as we came together to host our Macmillan coffee morning with family and friends.  Everyone enjoyed the delicious cakes and drinks whilst listening to favourite, ‘rat pack classics’.

Wallace Collection

Our homes had a fantastic time joining members of the Wallace Collection for an amazing sensory session.

During the live virtual experience, our residents explored one of the museum’s most beautiful Dutch flower paintings and learnt new drawing techniques.

We cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and produce beautiful paintings of our own.

Everyone enjoyed the lovely talk, we all had lots of fun and it’s given us plenty of ideas.

The sound of music

This morning some of the residents sat back and enjoyed some musical therapy. We got the song sheets out and had a good old sing along, singing our favourite songs and sharing our love of music. It was a fun filled morning for all!

A breath of fresh air

Today some of the residents took the opportunity to enjoy a spot of sunshine as we took advantage of the late Summer sun, some went for a walk to the local Park whilst others ventured out for a walk down the Canal Path to Swarkestone Lock. It was a morning well spent!
