Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Luisa Painemilla

Activities Coordinator

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.

I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Bridgemere Garden World

Bridgemere Garden World

We recently returned to Bridgemere Garden World this month. Our trips there are always a success as there is so much to see and do there. This time, residents were particularly taken by the moving dinosaurs on the crazy golf course.

We were able to look at all the lovely seasonal blooms and enjoy the indoor shopping area, looking at unusual foods in the food hall and petting the visiting dogs we saw along our route.

A Green Day Out

We have been back to Tatton Park for a picnic lunch in the sunshine and we were able to see the deer there. There were lots of preparations going on for the RHS Flower Show, which was starting the next day, so we enjoyed looking at the comings and goings of the tradespeople and their flowers. We also tucked in to some very nice ice cream!

It was a beautiful day, so after our picnic, we decided to visit the local Friars Garden Centre to look at their beautiful roses and plants. We also made some enquiries about a future visit to the Gauntlet Birds of Prey Experience just outside Knutsford. We are looking forward to that trip in the near future.

Manley Mere

We took a trip to Manley Mere to make the most of the sunshine. We had a picnic lunch by the Mere and watched 2 coach loads of school children have a whale of a time on a giant inflatable! Residents loved to see and interact with the kids and their teachers and enjoyed their picnic in the lovely weather.

Walking Club

Walking Club

During our weekly Walking Club expedition, we picked some lovely blooms for our gardens, including roses, daisies, eucalyptuses and clematis. Barry (pictured) presented the flowers to our General Manager, Suzanne, upon our return and then himself and Marjorie stayed for coffee in her office - they were showing her how to do her paperwork!

New entertainer to Beeston View!

New entertainer to Beeston View!

We had a visit from a new entertainer this time round, his name is Mark Whitby and he sang for us all and played his guitar too.

We used our own instruments and some that Mark brought with him and the residents played along too.

Susan Walker visits Beeston View

Susan Walker visits Beeston View

We have had another visit from Susan Walker, one of our regular entertainers here at Beeston View.

Susan is always a hit with the Residents, who enjoy singing along and dancing to her music! We even had a bit of a karaoke session with her this time round and Staff and Residents showed off their vocal abilities.
