Activities at Worplesdon View Care Home
Activities at Worplesdon View
The activities team at Worplesdon View organise and run activities and events for large groups, small groups and individual residents. We include relatives, volunteers and the remaining staff whenever possible and encourage choice and participation from everyone we support. Our programme is planned in advance and is is designed provide tailored, meaningful activities for residents to participate in that will stimulate all senses, whist encouraging mental and physical well-being. We have an activity plan for all residents, and of course, this changes with the needs of each person to keep it up-to-date and useful. Worplesdon View is a fun and dynamic place to live and work, and the secret to this is that everyone is encouraged to see activities as part of their role in the home so that residents are happy and always have something to do.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Easter Cake Decorating Competition
We had lots of fun on this month, sorting out our entry for the Easter Cake Decorating Competition. We tried our hand at fondant sugar craft, and made little birds' nests with mini eggs. We also had fun eating them the next day! It was tough choosing just one design to submit for the competition, but we finally settled on this one, look at the little chick!

Happy Easter
We had a wonderful Easter, starting with a morning visit from Stanley the Therapy dog and his owner, Nicky. Then, our very own Easter bunny did the rounds in the afternoon! We loved seeing so many of our residents’ relatives and we hope you all had a long and relaxing weekend!

Zoolab Visit
This February, we transformed our lounge into a zoo! And I have to say, our residents are a lot braver than our Activity Co-Ordinator! We were fascinated by creepy crawlies and Ranger Ben was very knowledgeable and captured all our attentions. We're looking forward to next time, but don't worry if you forget to bring the tarantula…

CEO and Managing Director Visit
The front of our home is beautiful, and we were so proud to show it off to our CEO, Peter Calveley on his visit this February, and our Managing Director, Natasha Lazovic. We were praised for all our hard work and our Chef, Steve's freshly made croissants went down a storm! Natasha described it as a “10/10 visit”. Thank you to everyone that helps us do the best for our residents.

Mr Magic Hat
Thank you so much to Mr Magic Hat, who visited us in February, you held us utterly, spellbound! We cannot wait to have you back! Charismatic and slick, Mr Magic Hat is the ultimate showman, he wowed us, made us laugh and we're still scratching our heads over his illusions!

Pet Therapy with Stanley
We love animals at Worplesdon View, so we were very excited to have Stanley and Nicky visit us. Stanely is a therapy dog (check the official bandana!) and all round goodest boy! Never have we had so many people enquire about an activity! Needless to say, we are counting down the days until their next visit on Easter Sunday!
