Activities at White Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Life at White Lodge Care Home
Autumn Display
The rich pickings from the White Lodge grounds created these wonderful Autumn displays. Residents then added a taste of Halloween to the display with a range of pumpkins including creating our own salt dough pumpkins. Made from salt, flour and water then microwaved a very clever creation. We are all appreciating the colours in the gardens, they are changing daily.
Autumn Colours
White Lodge is surrounded by the glorious colours of Autumn. This weekend we took our usual walks around the grounds, but with a mission to collect items for our Autumn indoor display. Everything we collected has been used in creating a display for everyone to enjoy, we look forward to showing you the stunning end result.
Scrabble Pros
Scrabble is a popular past time at White Lodge, this husband and wife team are pros with a vast knowledge of high scoring short words and a real love of the game.
White Lodge's Macmillan Cake Sale
Thank you to everyone who donated and purchased from our delicious selection of cakes on sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. We all know someone impacted by cancer and this annual event is so important to raise funds for this wonderful charity.
Life at Home
White Lodge has a varied and interesting activities and events programme, but sometimes residents do just want to the normal things they would have done at home. Baking is always a favourite and this week Doreen has helped with the hoovering and the empathy dolls have been really popular with residents on Memory Lane. What is so important to us all at Barchester White Lodge is that residents can do what they wish to do.
Award Winning Gardens
Ioana and Tina will be representing White Lodge at the Barchester Care Awards in Manchester. As winners of divisional Garden of the Year White Lodge goes forward to the National Awards. Due to the unseasonably warm weather our courtyard is showing more signs of summer still rather than autumn. It is wonderful to still see so much colour.
