Activities at White Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

White Lodge Residents Plant Commemorative Lilac Tree

White Lodge have planted a commemorative tree to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We selected a lilac tree as it reflected the regal colours and is so stunning when in bloom. Peter one of our residents is our "head gardener" with a keen interest in gardening, he has been very actively involved in all the home's gardening projects. A group of residents and visiting families watched the official planting.

With our rural setting it is important for us to continue to plant trees and Barchester White Lodge is committed to this. The lilac tree is located near the trees planted last year for Countryfile's Plant Britain campaign.

White Lodge Celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in Style

White Lodge celebrated the Jubilee in style today, we had a fabulous day. Residents enjoyed a barbeque lunch, they were then joined by family and friends for a fun filled afternoon. A local brass band played well known patriotic tunes while everyone enjoyed afternoon tea. It was a perfect afternoon with loved ones to mark this momentous occasion.

A big thank you to the White Lodge team who made this event possible, your hard work was so appreciated.
