Activities at White Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Garden Makeover

White Lodge could have appeared on a garden makeover show - the residents transformed the courtyard in an afternoon and what a fantastic end result. It was an absolute pleasure to see the residents working together to bring colour to our Mediterranean style courtyard, thoroughly enjoying getting outside and creating new planting. These pictures show the before and after.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Happy St Patrick's Day! We have had a fabulous day at White Lodge, it was action packed.

This morning a pot of gold appeared at the end of the rainbow from our very own leprechaun. There was an Irish quiz and a find the gnomes competition. Then this afternoon was party time with Irish music, delicious cheese boards from the hospitality team all accompanied with Guiness and other tipples. It really was such a fun filled day.

Happy Residents

There are times when a photo really does say it all, we love seeing our residents so happy.

Horse Racing and Residents' Meeting

Not only did we go to the races, we also made the race course! Painting coloured horses and drawing a track it was great fun, we had 5 races and will definitely be racing again soon.

This afternoon we also held a residents' meeting, these meetings are really important to get feedback and ideas from the residents and put plans in place for the coming months.

Getting Creative at Studley Grange Craft Village

White Lodge is home to a lot of individuals and the team work hard to offer person centred care and activities. Margaret is putting plans in place for the whole of 2022, there are some exciting things ahead. Today this started with a trip to Studley Grange Garden Centre visiting Q Ceramics in their Craft Village, we had a wonderful time painting our chosen items.

Full House

It was eyes down and a full house (literally we had to get more seats!) for bingo today. Everyone really enjoyed the game, concentrating, dabbing and waiting to shout out, which surprisingly took a little while. The winners selected prizes of either chocolate or smellies. We did also venture out for a walk but we nearly got blown away and it was a cold wind, we certainly got some fresh air!
