Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I'm Joanne and I'm the Activities Co-ordinator at Westvale House! I joined the team in December 2023 and absolutely love my role. Getting to spend time with our residents every day and getting to know each of them more and more, is such a privilege.

I get to create and tailor our activities to the preferences of each individual resident, making sure they're all doing things they'll absolutely love, and that brings me and the rest of the team so much joy. Making each of their days special is what I believe my job is all about.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Christmas Fayre

On Saturday 8th December, staff, residents and families enjoyed our Christmas Fayre. We had various craft stalls, a raffle, mulled wine and mince pies. We also had a surprise visit from Doolittle's Donkeys. Residents and families really enjoyed Santa, Mrs Christmas and the elf coming to say hello as well.

Exercise Class

On Thursday 6th December, residents enjoyed a visit 'Mr. Motivator', who came in to host a festive exercise session. One resident used to be a boxer, so he really enjoyed putting his boxing gloves back on and doing some sparring.

On Wednesday 5th December, we took residents out to M&S for Christmas shopping. They really enjoyed buying presents for their loved ones and having mince pies & tea.

St Philip's Coffee Morning

St Philip's Coffee Morning

On Tuesday 4th December, residents went to St Philip's Coffee Morning. They enjoyed watching the Christmas carol service by the school children, and happily indulged in some mince pies and tea.

Saks Hair & Beauty

On Tuesday 27th November, we had Saks Hair & Beauty come in to pamper the residents. We were raising money for The Eve Appeal, who are making more people aware of the 5 most common types of gynaecological cancers in women. The residents had lots of fun being pampered!

Thanksgiving Celebrations

On Thursday 22nd November, residents celebrated thanksgiving with Music4All. They enjoyed singing and playing their instruments.
