Activities at Westgate House Care Home
Our role in the home is fundamental to ensuring that our residents enjoy a fulfilling quality of life. We strive to provide a stimulating, creative & varied range of activities & events in the home, which everyone can enjoy whether they prefer social group engagement or one to one interaction. Residents choice is what we aim to provide to the best of our abilities. We enjoy being creative, sharing projects and discussing with our residents the kind of activities they would like to enjoy. Both indoor and outdoor activities are offered to cater for all tastes as well as regular outings to local places of interest.

Kelly and Sandra have worked for Westgate House for over 12 years, so have many years’ experience. They love having fun with the residents and providing a variety of activities.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Westgate House Care Home
Dignity Awareness Day
We hosted a theatre forum and workshop with a short play written by relative, Roxanne, who is also a Dignity and Dementia Champion. Regional Director, Violet Kotu, and CDN, Sarah Roberts, gave Oscar-winning performances. Relatives and staff were very impressed with the workshop that followed. Residents attended our afternoon Digni Tea, where we had a performance of poetry and song.
Open Day
Visitors were delighted when they stumbled upon our reminiscence display on Open Day.
Culture Day
Residents & staff celebrated the similarities and differences between each other on Culture Day.
The Sickle Cell Society
We held a fundraising event for the Sickle Cell Society and managed to raise £142 in a raffle in Memory of Shaquille O'Neal Andall, son of our key worker, Sharon Andall, who sadly passed away due to the condition at the age of three.
10 Years at Westgate
Violet Kotu, our Regional Director, and staff of Westgate House celebrated 10 years of service with Nadia Umutoni who works in our catering department.
Culture Day
Residents & staff celebrated the cultures of all who live and work at westgate house through sampling dishes and the wearing of costumes. A great day was had by all.
