Westgate House Care Home in East London

Located in Forest Gate with easy public transport and road access, we provide 24-hour residential and nursing care for people living with dementia in our dedicated Memory Lane Community as well as care for people living with physical disabilities. Situated in beautiful, well-tended gardens which enable residents to enjoy the outdoors in a picturesque setting, Westgate House is a purpose-built care home with its own parking facility.

Our care and nursing team are passionate about supporting our residents to be as independent as possible as well as personalising the care plans that every individual needs. Our dedicated team of nurses have specialised skills which include elderly care, palliative care, dementia care and brain injury care.

We strive to offer the best possible alternative for those who are no longer able to manage at home. We empower our residents to regain independence, choice and freedom in their lives in a safe and comfortable setting.

Our Memory Lane Community specialises in dementia care, enabling every resident to thrive in an environment designed to stimulate and enrich their lives whilst giving families peace of mind and security. Our person-centred team are experienced in responding to the challenges that dementia presents, at whichever stage of the dementia journey.

Additional facilities at Westgate House include hairdressing, chiropody, dentist, opticians and physiotherapy.

Hi, my name is Frances, and I am the General Manager here at Westgate. I hope you find what you're looking for on our website. 

I have a wealth of experience in both NHS & private care environments and extensive management experience as a band 9 Clinical General Nurse.

I am exceptionally proud to be part of the team at Westgate House and to work for Barchester. My colleagues and I have a passionate desire to make each day special for every one of the residents. I believe that this ethos is at the heart of why Westgate House is a warm, friendly care home and a special place to live and work.

Each resident at Westgate has their own unique, personal care plan that specifies their care needs, personal preferences and tastes, which is regularly reviewed. We provide a high quality, personalised service which aims to help residents retain as much of their daily life as possible with support to continue pursuing the interests and hobbies they have always enjoyed.

I am so proud of my team – every one of them is devoted to making sure that residents’ individual needs and requirements are met, from personalising their rooms to knowing their favourite foods, preferences and tastes.

We know how difficult it is to find the right home for your loved ones, so we do everything we can to support families with that decision and to make Westgate House a wonderful place to live.

My attention to detail and experience in housekeeping is shared within the team I lead and we enjoy adding the finishing touches to make the house a comfortable and inviting home. I enjoy the interaction I have with residents within fulfilling my role and thoroughly embrace the opportunity it allows me to build relationships with them.

I am responsible for both the practical aspect of the homes upkeep, as well as all the documentation record keeping to fully comply with all aspects of the home maintenance. I am an active part of the home and enjoy developing relationships with contractors to the home as well as the residents for whom I am dedicated to ensuring the home is maintained to our high standards. I have worked at the home in this role for the past 8 years. I am a down to earth and cheerful chappy and I enjoy looking after our pretty gardens.

I have lead the Catering Team for over 12 years and could not wish for a more helpful, loyal and reliable number of friends. We always try to help the residents whenever we can and all thoroughly look forward to coming to Westgate House each day. We also enjoy joining in various activities such as 'Barchester's Got Talent', the many Tea Dances that we hold and many other events. Our priority is always the residents and we look forward to helping with their needs.
