Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Lee Austin
My name is Lee and I am the Head of Lifestyle here at Westergate House.
I support our residents daily to do the things they enjoy and it is extremely important to me that we are offering a premium and person centred service to each resident. I support our residents on a daily basis by providing meaningful and quality activities either in groups or on a 1:1 basis, to help encourage and build confidence while creating an enjoyable environment for everyone. Westergate House is the home of our residents, we as staff are working in it, so it is extremely important to me that we are respectful of that, while offering a premium and person centred service to each and every resident.
I am a trained actor and professional vocalist and not shy in making a fool of myself. If I do that every day to put a smile on our residents faces then I’m happy I have played my part, along with the rest of the amazing team, to brightening their day. If you hear someone singing along the corridor or see them dancing in the lounges, it will probably be me.

Life at Westergate House Care Home
St Patrick's Day
Residents enjoyed soda cake with a lunch time buffet for St Patrick's Day, along with a glass of Guinness whilst watching the races.

Masie was a big help with planning our Westergate Easter Weekend!
Diamond Wedding Anniversary
Two of Westergate’s well-loved residents – Douglas and Diana – celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary right here at the home on 16th February, alongside family, friends, fellow residents and staff members. The local vicar came to bless their marriage and we provided an abundance of cakes, which were decorated by residents. The Mayoress of Arundel also came to present a bouquet of flowers and we rounded the day off with music and dancing.
One Fine Morning
There is nothing like a brisk walk on a lovely, bright morning. The Westergate ladies do enjoy their walks!
Tangmere Dementia Hub
Residents always enjoy an Alive activities session with Craig; they're always full of interesting facts from times gone by.
Open Day
The open day that we hosted on 27th January was a busy and fun day that ended all too soon. We were visited by lots of new people, who were shown around our beautiful home and introduced to residents and staff members. The Head Chef prepared a sumptuous buffet for everyone to partake in.
Also visiting us was the Mayoress of Arundel in her capacity of Town Crier. She gave a short and interesting account of the history of the Queen's messengers. There was also plenty of music and dancing that was enjoyed by all.
