Activities at West Oak Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at West Oak Care Home

WOW Breakfast Club at West Oak

WOW Breakfast Club at West Oak

We threw open our doors and invited our professional contacts for breakfast in our brand new café area to celebrate the recent WOW refurbishment at the home.

From 8.30am, there was a steady stream of hungry local professionals placing orders for bacon sandwiches, fresh juices, coffees and pastries, with many ordering take-away breakfasts to take back to the office for their colleagues. The sun shone and so breakfast was even enjoyed in the garden.

Everyone was keen to take a look around the newly refurbished home and some people took the opportunity to catch up face-t-face with other teams over a working breakfast.

General Manager, Geoffrey Honour, said: “This was a fantastic morning. We specifically targeted breakfast time as we knew that our professional contacts are often too busy to leave the office during the day, so we wanted to catch them on their way to work.

In fact, the morning was so successful as a networking event that a number of people requested that we host the breakfast club on a regular basis.
