Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Life at The Warren Care Home

River Trip

River Trip

20th September saw us board The Queen of the Broads river cruiser for a two hour trip down the river from Wroxham to Horning Reaches, where we see lots of wildlife, the Wherry Yacht, 'Solace', and some wonderful river properties, including the former home of one George Formby! This was a very enjoyable trip, although when we left our moorings, it was raining. Things did get better, however, and by the time we had drank our tea and coffee on board and arrived back in Wroxham, it had dried up.

Grey Skies & Sunny Times

Grey Skies & Sunny Times

Here at The Warren, we encourage residents to help with the planting of our wonderful sunflowers. And then, the fun begins; we like to hold a competition to see who's will grow the tallest - this year, the winner was one of our chefs, Chris.

All Change

All Change

The 23rd September saw the retirement of Barbara, who had been at the helm of The Warren for the last two years. We all wish her well and for her to have a long and happy retirement. So, as we say goodbye to Barbara, we say hello to Amelia, who will now be our leader and guidance for the future. Here’s to exciting times.

A Visit to the Seaside

A Visit to the Seaside

After our August break from our trips out, we visited West Runton for a cup of tea and cake at the seaside. It was a beautiful day and quite hot, so much so that Joy, our Head of Activities, had to put a bag on her head as it was burning - well, that was her excuse!

Alan and Olive thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially as they had fresh tea to drink. They have, in fact, already asked when we are going again. I guess that depends on if the weather will hold out for a bit longer.

Employee of the Month - August

Our Employee of the Month for august at The Warren is Jeanette, who is part of the kitchen team and one of our Hostesses. As she is going round with her trolley you can always hear her chatting and laughing with everyone en route. She is very bubbly and easy going in her role, and very much looks forward to her well-earned holiday in Benidorm.
