Activities at Tixover House Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Nicola Blevins-Twose
Hello, my name is Nicola (Nic) and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Tixover House.
My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities, entertainers and outings. At Tixover House we offer something for everyone, including crafts, games, virtual visits to places of interest around the world, outings in the local area and parties. We also provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need more support. Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meeting we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Tixover House.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones. 'Living life to the full' is my motto, and whatever your ability there is always something new to learn or try.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Tixover House Care Home
Twinkle Toes at Tixover
Activities Coordinator, Marie McIntyre, brought life to the home by getting residents, staff and even the General Manager to dance in the reception area at the start of the day. Everyone thought it was a great way to finish the night shift and start the day shift.
Keeping Busy
Residents have been helping out with domestic chores and they all enjoyed helping out.
Winnie the Pooh Day
For our Winnie the Pooh Day, we enjoyed learning about the bear's life story and how he came to be, followed by songs from the Winnie the Pooh films that we all love.
Singing for Memory Lane
We were joined by some entertainers who helped to get our vocal cords working properly – it was a really enjoyable afternoon!
Four-Legged Friend
We had a recent visit from our new four-legged friend – he was on his best behaviour.
Baking Morning
Residents recently spent a morning baking and really enjoyed the tasting session afterwards with a nice warm cuppa.
