Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home

Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

Life at Threshfield Court Care Home

Beautiful bouquets

Our homes had a fantastic time joining members of the Wallace Collection for an amazing sensory session.

During the live virtual experience, our residents explored one of the museum’s most beautiful Dutch flower paintings and learnt new drawing techniques.

We cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and produce beautiful paintings of our own.

Everyone enjoyed the lovely talk, we all had lots of fun and it’s given us plenty of ideas.

Couple celebrate 70-year anniversary

A couple from Threshfield Court Care Centre, in Threshfield have celebrated 70 years of marriage.  John came to Threshfield Court Care Centre to celebrate the couple’s special anniversary with staff and residents. The home arranged a special lunch for them both in our Café Area., with a bottle of Fizz and a bouquet of flowers.

General Manager, Stacey Nicholson at Threshfield Court Care Centre said: “We have had such a lovely day celebrating Dylys and John’s anniversary. It’s so wonderful to see two people still very much in love after all these years!”

Enjoying the sunshine

We have had some amazing weather the past week here at Threshfield Court, spending time in the garden helps all our minds and bodies relax.

A colourful display

Threshfield Court residents enjoyed a colourful morning in their popular arts and crafts session creating flowers out of crepe paper before sitting back to enjoy a refreshing cup of tea and homemade cake.

Musical mystery tour

Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.

Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.

The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.
