Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home

Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

Life at Threshfield Court Care Home

Carers week

Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at the home.

We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

Creating posies with florist

Our homes had a lovely time joining Sue and Nicole from Ferndown Florist for an intriguing flower arrangement workshop in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful virtual demonstration and got inspired to create their own flower posies for our Jubilee displays.  Our home will be specially decorated for the upcoming festivities. Stay tuned.

Red, white and blue!

It is starting to get very exciting at Threshfield Court Care Centre.  The table flowers are ready and look absolutely amazing in the tea cups.  A lot of effort has gone into the centre pieces but it’ll be worth it.  The different areas in our home have the bunting up ready for the final touches tomorrow for our Jubilee party.

A trip to Grassington jubilee

At Threshfield Court Care Centre we are so fortunate to live in a beautiful area with the most amazing meadows.  We also took the mini bus around our local village to see the Jubilee decorations. Grassington is where the new series of “All Creatures Great and Small” is being filmed.  As always, we stopped off and enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and a biscuit”.

Eyes down for a game of bingo

Residents at Threshfield Court enjoy a varied life enrichment programme to keep the mind, body and soul active. Each day there are popular group activities bringing everyone together along with individual Resident centred activities.

It was all eyes down as Residents enjoyed a game of bingo in the lounge, everyone showed a little friendly competition as they looked at calling house first!

Once the game was finished we settled back to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of home-made cake.

Jubilee celebrations

Excitement has been running high at Threshfield Court Care Centre in Threshfield where residents and staff have been busy making Jubilee-themed decorations and baking up a storm of red, white and blue cakes and pastries with the help of head chef Jason Smith in preparation for the Jubilee.

Staff and residents at the home put their heads together and came up with a plan for their celebrations fit for a Queen.  Over the bank holiday weekend the home held a Tea Party.  Our Hospitality Team prepared a wonderful spread including, Union Jack Cup Cakes and Jubilee Sundaes.  The whole home came together to celebrate our longest reigning monarch and reminisce about what she means to each and every one of us.
