Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Food Bank Drop Off

At Tewkesbury Fields, we support as many local great causes as we can.  This month we took two of our residents, Doris and Linden to drop off our gifts to the Food bank and as always, we had a lovely welcome from the team who do an amazing job!

Tewkesbury Abbey at Christmas

We heard a whisper that the BBC Radio was at Tewkesbury Abbey to broadcast a live performance that evening.  Amanda and Naomi took residents  Linden, Doris down to look around Tewkesbury Abbey and see the Christmas nativity displays and of course, to see what was going on with the BBC!  After that, our residents enjoyed a lovely coffee and mince pie in our local town.

Christmassy Outings

Our lovely resident - Trish had a fabulous afternoon at The Royal Hop Pole, Tewkesbury enjoying some festive snacks and catching up with Amanda!

They then walked down Tewkesbury high street to admire the beautiful Christmas lights! In particular, the window display that Carousel Tea Room Tewkesbury have done - stunning!

We love to take our residents out and about whenever we can at Tewkesbury Fields and can’t wait to share all the exciting Christmas plans we have with you!

30 Years of Caring

On the 23rd November 2022 at Tewkesbury Fields we celebrated Barchester Healthcare reaching an incredible 30 years of caring. We started the celebrations by gathering in Bushley lounge to do a quiz all about the year 1992. It was so lovely to see our residents getting involved and feeling the competitive spirit in the room! We then toasted Barchester with a glass of fizz whilst listening to Andy’s guitar and song performance. A BIG special thank you to Seren-dipity Cupcakes for the most amazing/delicious cake. It went down a treat with all of our residents, friends, families and staff!

Please support us to keep safe and well this winter

The Uk is expecting flu symptoms this winter to be very serious, therefore Tewkesbury Fields has put infection prevention and control measures in place from Monday 21 November 2022.     Thank you for helping us keep your loved ones and us, SAFE!

IT’S A WRAP!

We hosted an amazing evening of fun, chatter and MORE IMPORTANTLY, the wrapping of presents for Seren's wish - gifts that will help struggling families give presents to their children at Christmas. We all managed to wrap the contents of 186 sacks in 2 hours!
