Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

BIG Thank you to Alderman Knight School

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!

We want to say a big thank you to the wonderful staff and students of Alderman Knight School in Tewkesbury. Not only did they deliver the most spectacular hamper to our residents, they also braved the cold weather to get it to us safely!

The kindness of the staff and students put a huge smile on all of our residents faces. Marion accepted the hamper on behalf of everyone and said “I can’t believe how lucky we are to have been gifted such a beautiful hamper! I suggest we keep it till Christmas Day and share it amongst everyone.” - what a perfect idea Marion!

A Big Welcome to PAT Dog - Dudley

A big welcome to Tewkesbury Fields Care Home Dudley!

We were delighted to welcome Pets As Therapy puppy Dudley into the home this morning to meet some of our residents. Dudley is an 18 month old Cockapoo and is just as soft and cuddly as he looks! We already can’t wait to have you back - what a good boy!

Pantomime Time

Today we had a wonderful day out watching Snow White at Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury. Friends, family and residents wrapped up in their finest Christmas apparel and set off for an afternoon of Christmas delight.

We enjoyed a Christmas buffet, a Christmas quiz and then went on to enjoy the show!

Snowflake Competition

Tewkesbury Fields Snow Flake Competition!

We wanted to say a huge thank you to all the schools, nurseries and playgroups that took part in our snowflake competition. All the entries were amazing and we were able to create a snowflake wonderland in the care home!

Residents joined in to carefully judge all of the snowflakes and even though they said it was a difficult task because they were all so brilliant - they have chosen their winners. We will be in touch with the winners to deliver a special present!

Can you spot your child’s snowflakes in the pictures?

Charity Wreath Making

Tewkesbury Fields were so pleased to host a lovely group from the community who joined a very special wreath making class in aid of charity. We were able to provide a delicious afternoon tea for our guests and ensured that they had all the space they needed!

We were beaming with pride at some of the comments likening our beautiful home to a hotel and some guests even saying that they’d like to check in for a week!

Congratulations on raising £909 for charity - what a success!

Christmas arrives at Tewkesbury Fields

A fantastic day at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home!

We started off with Katie and Katrina selecting our Christmas tree from the wonderful Woody's Farm Shop!

Then we spent the afternoon decorating Bushley lounge, our residents chipped in fluffing the tree and assisting with bauble placement. All whilst we sung Christmas songs and warmed by the fire! It was truly the perfect Christmas scene! Our lovely resident Marion commented “The decorations look perfectly Christmassy, whilst remaining elegant.”

We even had two little elves (Amanda and Jo) joining in with the festivities whilst supporting Elf Day in association with the Alzheimer's Society.
