Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Fashion show with miniature figures

The ladies at Tewkesbury Fields have had a fabulous time this afternoon, travelling all the way back to the fashion in the 1960s. In the 1960's many ladies used to make their own clothing for themselves and their children. Sandra, from Charmworth miniatures has such a wonderful miniatures fashion collection through the decades! Some ladies even enjoyed trying some hats on, including Mary Quant style. Overall, we've had a fantastic afternoon reminiscing and sharing stories together.

Weekly Baking Club

We love our weekly Baking Club at Tewkesbury Fields, this week we baked and iced vanilla cup cakes.  Some residents prefer to chat and observe that we are following the recipe correctly. We measured, reminisced and mixed the ingredient the old fashion way!  They tasted and looked superb with our afternoon cup of tea.
