Activities at Station Court Care Home
Activities make up the most important part of all our days, and at Station Court we ensure there are a variety of social events that reflect the individual interests and capabilities of people we support. All group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self worth. All of our team are committed to supporting a full activities programme within the home.

Hi, my name is Carly and I am the homes Activities Coordinator. I joined the home in 2011. I am passionate about our enhancing our residents daily life and delivering a person centred life enrichment activity programme is very important to me to ensure that our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives doing things that they want to and enjoy. Our programme is varied from excursions out on the mini bus ensuring our residents are connected to their local community, hosting events here in the home, virtual events and themed days – no day is the same!

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Station Court Care Home
Dogs Trust
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event, led by Jennifer and Emily from Dogs Trust, the UK's largest dog welfare charity. Jennifer and Emily took us on a journey to discover the rich history of Dogs Trust and their facilities.
Using captivating video and photo footage, our residents were able to explore rehoming centres and learn more about the highest level of welfare offered there. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our dog lovers.
Summer Party
Everyone at Station Court had a brilliant day celebrating the official start of summer and World music day with family and friends at our garden party this month!
With our garden decorated, summer refreshments in hand, the sun shining - Everyone got ‘all shook up’ with live entertainment from the amazing Mike Memphis performing his famous Elvis show for us all .. the British weather never stops us having a great time and so when the heavens opened we dashed indoors and carried on the party in our lounge!
Father's Day Celebrations
We celebrated father’s day at our ‘Dads day lunch event’ inviting families to have a 3 course Sunday lunch with our dads and grandads.
With a cold pint or whiskey of course, games, music, themed quiz and extra treats to make all our father’s feel as special as they are!
National Beer Day
We opened our mock beer garden ‘The Station Arms’ to celebrate National Beer Day this month.
With the Sun shining, ice cold beers and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and refreshments on tap, music from the swinging 60s and 70s playing. It was the best day to spend time with family and friends duelling it out in our pub quiz!
RAF Museum London
Across our services we had a lovely time joining Rhiannon Watkinson from the RAF Museum London for an interactive talk exploring the exciting and innovative aviation history of Hendon.
Our residents were able to learn about the first flights from the fields at Hendon, the creation of the London Aerodrome and Battle of Britain pilots who flew from RAF Hendon.
The talk also included photographic and film material from the Museum’s archive. Residents across our homes had a fantastic time and we truly enjoyed the virtual experience.
Pets at the Palaces
Residents across our services had a delightful time during a special virtual sensory storytelling event, led by Art Historian Jon Sleigh from the Historic Royal Palaces.
Jon took us on a journey to discover some of the more unusual and unexpected inhabitants of the palaces and the Tower of London, sharing fascinating stories about the pets at the palaces.
Whilst enjoying the virtual experience, our residents were treated to hot beverages, delicious biscuits, berries and cakes. It was a truly lovely time for all.
