Activities at Station Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities make up the most important part of all our days, and at Station Court we ensure there are a variety of social events that reflect the individual interests and capabilities of people we support. All group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self worth. All of our team are committed to supporting a full activities programme within the home.

Carly Chesney
Hi, my name is Carly and I am the homes Activities Coordinator. I joined the home in 2011. I am passionate about our enhancing our residents daily life and delivering a person centred life enrichment activity programme is very important to me to ensure that our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives doing things that they want to and enjoy. Our programme is varied from excursions out on the mini bus ensuring our residents are connected to their local community, hosting events here in the home, virtual events and themed days – no day is the same!
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Station Court Care Home

Festive Fun Day
Residents, family members, local children and staff at Station Court had a brilliant day at the care home's family festive fun day event.
Families took part in a festive photoshoot with residents to create personalised Christmas cards to gift to loved ones.
Everyone had fun visiting Christmas creation stations, festive tables and feasting on festive sweet treats before visiting resident, John in his grotto as Santa with the Station elves receiving a present.
The children brought festive joy and excitement for the big day to us all.

Together at Christmas
Residents and family members ‘simply had a wonderful Christmas time’ at Station Court’s annual festive family event.
Spending time together feasting on a festive themed afternoon tea with glasses of bubbles and fizz flowing. Singing and dancing to festive favourite hits performed live by the brilliant Michael Stevens and had fun competing in a family Christmas quiz winning Christmas treats.
Everyone had such a special time, making memories together and leaving us with a personalised bauble and full of festive cheer.
A big thankyou to all who joined us and to our staff who made the event so special.

A Christmas Carol
Across our homes we’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating the festive season with a special screening of 2020’s OLD VIC: IN CAMERA – A Christmas Carol.
This beautifully staged production brought the magic of Dickens’ classic tale right into our homes. A huge thank you to The Old Vic theatre for sharing this incredible performance with us. It was a truly wonderful experience.

The Holly & the Ivy
Staff and residents across our homes were treated to an interactive virtual Christmas-inspired table decorating masterclass, courtesy of talented master florist, Kathryn Delve.
Kathryn is an independent florist based in Somerset, she specialises in creating unique wedding and event flowers. She takes much of her inspiration for her displays from the beautiful scenery that surrounds her home and the changing seasons and colours.
During the workshop, residents were invited to join Kathryn to make beautiful Christmas-themed table decorations.

Halloween Skelebration
Mini monsters from the local community joined us in their costumes for a Halloween family fun day having a spooktacular time playing Halloween themed games and challenges, taking part in scavenger hunts, joining our pumpkin and painting party and feasting on eerie-istable treats.
Residents and staff had a ghoul at our monster mash party with Michaela performing Halloween hits live and a ‘fang’tastic afternoon joining our ‘terror-ific’ friends at full circle for a community Halloween tea party. Residents took a trip down memory lane with Sarah from Northumberland library sharing spooky stories and reminiscing of Halloween’s past with memorabilia.

Lest we forget
Residents joined a lovely remembrance service at Ashington memorial garden paying their respects with pride to remember together as a community before residents and staff came together at our ‘Bless Em’ All’ afternoon tea party, singing along to wartime classics on remembrance Sunday.
We commemorated remembrance day observing the 2 minute silence together reflecting on the service and sacrifice the armed forces have made and make for our today. We shared wartime stories with veterans residing at Station Court and celebrated life getting all shook up with Elvis impersonator Mike Memphis performing his GI Elvis show bringing us all together singing, dancing, swooning and being serenaded to hits from the King of Rock N’ Roll.
