Activities at Station Court Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities make up the most important part of all our days, and at Station Court we ensure there are a variety of social events that reflect the individual interests and capabilities of people we support. All group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self worth. All of our team are committed to supporting a full activities programme within the home.

Carly Chesney

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Carly and I am the homes Activities Coordinator.  I joined the home in 2011.  I am passionate about our enhancing our residents daily life and delivering a person centred life enrichment activity programme is very important to me to ensure that our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives doing things that they want to and enjoy. Our programme is varied from excursions out on the mini bus ensuring our residents are connected to their local community, hosting events here in the home, virtual events and themed days – no day is the same!

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Halloween Skelebration

Mini monsters from the local community joined us in their costumes for a Halloween family fun day having a spooktacular time playing Halloween themed games and challenges, taking part in scavenger hunts, joining our pumpkin and painting party and feasting on eerie-istable treats.

Residents and staff had a ghoul at our monster mash party with Michaela performing Halloween hits live and a ‘fang’tastic afternoon joining our ‘terror-ific’ friends at full circle for a community Halloween tea party. Residents took a trip down memory lane with Sarah from Northumberland library sharing spooky stories and reminiscing of Halloween’s past with memorabilia.

Lest we forget

Residents joined a lovely remembrance service at Ashington memorial garden paying their respects with pride to remember together as a community before residents and staff came together at our ‘Bless Em’ All’ afternoon tea party, singing along to wartime classics on remembrance Sunday.

We commemorated remembrance day observing the 2 minute silence together reflecting on the service and sacrifice the armed forces have made and make for our today. We shared wartime stories with veterans residing at Station Court and celebrated life getting all shook up with Elvis impersonator Mike Memphis performing his GI Elvis show bringing us all together singing, dancing, swooning and being serenaded to hits from the King of Rock N’ Roll.
