What our families say on carehome.co.uk

"My mum and dad moved into Barchester Station Court Care Home in October 2023 and they have had great care, the food is nice, the home is clean and tidy and the staff are always willing to help and assist - the activities are the best and always have good, planned personal events. I am reassured they get the best care ever."

"Sadly lost Father on Christmas Day 2023, the support that was given by Station Court was exceptional, this was very much appreciated. In connection with the above Dad had been looked after well by all staff, this included domestics and kitchen staff, would not hesitate to recommend Station Court."

"My mother has been a resident at Barchester Station Court Care Home for a few months now and me and my family are very happy with the excellent care she receives. All the staff that we have come into contact with, from all areas of the home, are friendly, helpful and extremely caring. It is great to be able to visit at any time as there are no restrictions. The room is lovely and there is a good choice of food, which always looks very appetising. There are a range of activities on a daily basis and really well-organised, special events that friends and family can attend, which Mum has enjoyed. It is a very stressful time moving a loved one into a care home but the staff were so helpful and supportive to us and we felt very lucky to have such a lovely home nearby for Mum. A big thank you to everyone at Station Court for looking after Mum so well."

"This is a great care home for my grandma, which really satisfies all of her needs and the care goes beyond my expectations. The manager and all the staff genuinely care for the residents, regardless of there job role. I cannot say enough good things about them all. It's like one big, friendly family. The food is lovely and the activities are tailored to what the residents like and wishes and we have also been invited to join in the activities etc."

"Since moving into Barchester Station Court Care Home, my dad has made the most unbelievable improvements, physically and mentally. I cannot thank the staff team and management enough. A few months ago, I thought we would lose him and here we are, visiting Dad in the most comfortable and happy surroundings. He is chatty and full of life again and back to being my dad. He's made new friends and enjoys his chats about football with all the staff. Station Court staff are thoughtful, caring and experienced. We have our dad and grandad back, all thanks to the manager and all the staff. Thank you just isn't enough."

"Barchester Station Court Care Home is a well-run home with lots of activities held on a regular basis. Staff are very hardworking and caring, trying as best they can to make this more like home living. Only thing I would say is that there needs to be more communication between all staff members so that everyone is in the loop."

"Absolutely excellent, love joining in all the activities, so much fun with family quizzes and games. Mam is always clean and tidy - outfits coordinated and well-presented. She loves having her hair and nails done in the salon. Staff are so caring, like an extended family. Nothing is too much trouble."

"Thanks so much for your care for my sister for the past 3 weeks, she has been upstairs in the dementia unit and we have been really appreciative of your care for her. A special mention to the carers and also to another particular member of staff and cleaners. Also to the management for all your help with her if we require a permanent room we will have no hesitation to place her back in your care. Thanks from the family."

"Securing a place at Station Court Care Home was the best decision we have ever made. Watching mums struggle with dementia was heartbreaking but the transformation has been amazing. Thanks to the wonderful member of staff, there is always fun and stimulating activities and finally, we are seeing our mum have a smile on her face. The meals are excellent with good quality home cooking. At Station Court, all of the team are friendly and want to help. This is how all care for the elderly should be."

"During this period, the home had an outbreak of stickiness and diarrhoea, which was very well controlled by staff. Residents were looked after with care. I'm not sure whether this is a staffing problem, but weekend care is okay but not as good as weekdays. Overall, I think the home is very well run, and residents are looked after with respect and dignity in these very trying and difficult times."

"My mother was with you for a month’s respite after a stay in hospital. She was treated with great kindness by all the staff who went out of their way to make sure she felt secure and happy. Her room was clean and warm; the food was excellent and plentiful; if she did not like what was on offer, the staff were quick to suggest an alternative. If she ever needed to ring for assistance, staff responded promptly even during the night. She was anxious about going into a care home but after her time in Station Court, she would be happy to go there again. Thank you to all the staff."

"I thank all of the staff at Station Court, I think my mother-in-law is very happy now as she is always telling me when we come to visit her. The home is well cleaned and very tidy. My mother-in-law likes to help out with cleaning as this was one of her jobs when she was younger, the staff give her an old uniform and she was over the moon with this. I cannot tell you all how pleased we are thank you."

"It was really hard on the family, especially Dad when it became obvious Mam needed full-time care. Station Court is amazing and I could not wish for a better place for Mam. Every member of staff I've been in contact with has been lovely. Doesn't matter their age or gender, everyone is consistently pleasant and happy to see you. I'm able to go into the home, after a lateral flow test, and take Mam out for a visit with Dad, the home and Mam's room is always clean and tidy. Mam always looks well too, smartly dressed and clean. Mam's appetite has picked up too, she hardly ate when she lived at home, now she loves her food. The menus look appetising and there's always plenty of choices and something is always on offer. It's a great comfort to us that Mam resides here."

"My brother came into Station Court approximately 3 months ago after a fall. He really loved his own home but it came apparent that it was no longer safe for him. He has settled really well and says the staff are really caring. The food he says is delicious and really well cooked (he loves his food). Plenty of activities to join in with so all in all a very good home for him. All the staff are very helpful."

"My mother died in Barchester Station Court Care Home on 7.6.21. Up until then, we had been told she developed Covid in October 2020. Throughout the pandemic, staff were proactive in keeping us in contact by organising and supporting her in video calls and later in helping with window and bedroom visits. Her carers warned us of her incipient decline and supported her, and us, continuously throughout. They formed a guard of honour as her funeral passed the home. She was a friend and a respected resident, and we were very grateful for the care she received."

"My dad has been in the home since October. He has made friends with the residents which are great as he is a loaner. He loves the meals at the home as dad has a problem swelling it is a process. He loves the care he is getting and gets on really well. He is well looked after."

"My mother was only in Station Court for a short period but from the moment she went in until the time she left, the staff and management were both accommodating and very helpful. They kept me informed with regards to my mother's condition on a daily basis and were very caring and compassionate. I'd highly recommend this care home to anyone who is searching for a place for their loved ones."

"My mam was a resident in Station Court Care Home for 2 years, she suffered from dementia. Although her time in care was a period of increasing frailty and dependence upon others to provide basic personal care and support, I was always comfortable and reassured by the compassion, emotional support, patience and dignity shown to her. I always considered she was in good hands."

"My mam has recently been very poorly she has been nursed back by the care and patience of the care home staff. Myself and her family were very well supported. "I can thoroughly recommend this home. Mum was resident from February 2017 until she passed away on 10 April 2020. All staff were approachable, friendly, caring individuals who looked after mum as if she was their own. The home had a homely feel and kept clean and tidy and as well as caring for mum, provided support to me too and made me feel very welcome. I send all the staff my best wishes for their futures. Thank you!"

"Today I received a postcard with a photo of my aunt on and with it a small heart on saying A little hug from me to you. It was a lovely surprise and to see her looking so well. I cannot praise the staff enough on how they have managed to keep the coronavirus out of the home. To know my aunt is safe and well gives all her family peace of mind. She has only been there since January but the staff has helped her to settle in and the care she receives is amazing. Thank you."

"The Manager at Station Court fosters a very open and compassionate culture within the home which he models to all members of his team. Consequently, the care and compassion shown to all who live in Station Court is excellent. Every member of staff is approachable, responsive to contact and shows awareness of the best approach required for each individual resident. My 98-year-old father who has always been highly independent made his own decision to seek a residential home. We undertook a lot of research before he moved into the home. He has spontaneously said that he feels safe and well cared for, " I feel like a member of a family here at Station Court". The excellent commitment at all times of the whole staff team is apparent for all to see, but within the very challenging context of Covid 19 it has proved to be superb. We may not be able to visit at the moment but we have peace of mind that my father is safe and very much cared for by those who support his daily life. Excellent."

"My mother has lived in Station Court Care Home for well over a year now. It was very difficult to hand over her care when she was no longer able to live at home. I looked at many homes, but I feel very sure that Station Court was the right choice for her. She has a very nice bedroom and bathroom, the decor throughout the home is lovely, but more importantly, the care, consideration and respect she is given; is outstanding. She has dementia, and the carers and staff are professional, caring and knowledgeable. Trusting her care to Station Court has taken a great deal of stress away from me as I know my mother is safe and cared for in a very friendly and compassionate environment and I never believed I could be happy to leave her to be cared for by others."

"I visit my uncle, who is on the dementia unit, every week. I always feel welcome and the staff are very good with the residents. There are always activities going on. Also, seen recently, residents having a one-to-one with carers, which residents loved. Station Court is always kept to a clean, high standard."

"My Mother in Law went into the home for a week of respite care. The staff were very welcoming and friendly as she was very nervous. They bent over backwards to make her feel comfortable e.g. helping set up a TV for her. She was very happy with her stay and said when she was leaving that she would be happy to live there! Oh, and she won't stop raving about the food."

"From management through to domestic staff, everyone is very professional but in a caring way. The home, whilst being very airy and spotlessly clean, has a homely feel. The carers interact with residents. I have seen them dancing with my husband while he plays his music. They handle his difficult behaviour very well indeed. My husband has been in Station Court for five months and I am more than happy with my choice."

"My mother-in-law was a little nervous on arrival but staff were very friendly towards her. She fell in love with this home. She met some old friends from her day centre. The manager was fantastic, cannot praise this man enough. He so easy to talk to, he made us feel very welcome. The lovely secretary was very helpful to me about her needs for care and documentation. Thank you to all the staff at Station Court."

"I highly recommend Station Court. My Mum was in Station Court for 4 years before we had to take the difficult decision to move her to full-time nursing care. The care she received at Station Court was fantastic, she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity at all times. I was kept fully informed of all aspects of her care. The management and staff are amazing. They always knew where my Mum was - even though it is a relatively large home over 2 floors. My family and I have always been made to feel like we are part of the Station Court family. The staff always consider the needs of the residents, for example, when I was advised to move her to the upstairs specialist dementia facility of Memory Lane, I choose a room overlooking the garden, but it was pointed out that she would be better in a room which was the same position as downstairs so she was less confused when walking to the dining hall. I only hope my mum receives the same level of love at her new place."

"This care home was fantastic, when my grandma was in they looked after her and on arrival, they would warmly welcome you and offer you a hot drink and a biscuit. "Barchester Station Court Care Home provided excellent support and care for my father who was a resident there for three years. All members of staff are very caring, friendly and work well together as a team. In particular, during my father's final illness the staff went above and beyond in both in the care provided to my father and the amazing support they gave to us all as family members. "My mother has been a resident at Station Court for a few years. She has dementia and is happy and settled. Her condition meant she was unable to attend my daughter's wedding on 25th August. The staff were more than willing to let the bridal party attend on the way to the wedding so she could be on some of the photos. She was dressed immaculately and very happy although she doesn't really know who we are now. This meant so much to me and my daughter. The recent CQC report does not reflect the standard of care given by the amazing staff. My sister and I would never even consider moving her from such a wonderful environment. Thank you all for making our day!"

"All the staff were extremely helpful and supportive when we made the difficult decision that mam could no longer live on her own. The staff genuinely care for my mam and know her well, enabling them to act accordingly to her needs. They are quick to respond to any problems i.e calling out her Doctor when necessary. The carers always inform me of any health issues with mam and explain the management of care given to her. It is very reassuring to know that mam is well cared for. The staff are really lovely with my mam and treat her with kindness and respect. I am able to go on holiday and know that I don't have to worry about mam. I visit regularly and I am always welcomed by friendly carers and other staff."

"My mother was only here for a few weeks before she passed away but in the time she was there, I could not fault the home or the staff one little bit. Mum could be a stubborn so and so and with her dementia was not happy to be put in there in the first place. The staff's attitude, kindness and professionalism eventually started to win Mum over and she was just starting to settle down when things took a downward turn. Anytime anything happened with Mum, i.e. a fall, the home quickly informed me but the call was always started off with reassurances especially if the call was not about a serious incident. On the number of times we visited, the home was always clean, my mother was always clean and dressed. When you spoke to the staff they were always friendly and made time to speak to you and answer any questions you had. The manager attended my mother's funeral which my family thought was a very nice mark of respect. From my experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone."

"My mother has been in here just over a week. The first week has been a bit of a hassle as my mother seemed to have a stroke/TIA within 24 hours of arrival but this was dealt with speed and professionalism; this is a credit to the home and staff. A trip to the hospital lead to the discovery that it was not a stroke or a TIA but a sort of fainting fit or in other words a behavioural/attention protest at myself for putting mum in there. Having returned to the home, the staff have helped not only start and calm mum down with their care, patience, kindness and respect but have also given me the feeling that my mother is in very good hands and are going to take exceptional care of her. I have asked many questions to various staff members and have either had prompt answers or if they were unsure they would quickly get someone that could answer. Nothing seems too much for the staff and certainly listen to any concerns you have and have no hesitation in putting your mind at ease."

"What a wonderful place! The staff are amazing, hard working, caring, patient, competent and positive. I was concerned about leaving my husband outside the home environment as I had always been with him. However, at Barchester Station Court the staff looked after him wonderfully. We felt immediately comfortable and safe. I witnessed how they often went above and beyond. They truly put "care" into care home."
