Activities at Station Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities make up the most important part of all our days, and at Station Court we ensure there are a variety of social events that reflect the individual interests and capabilities of people we support. All group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self worth. All of our team are committed to supporting a full activities programme within the home.

Hi, my name is Carly and I am the homes Activities Coordinator. I joined the home in 2011. I am passionate about our enhancing our residents daily life and delivering a person centred life enrichment activity programme is very important to me to ensure that our residents continue to lead fulfilling lives doing things that they want to and enjoy. Our programme is varied from excursions out on the mini bus ensuring our residents are connected to their local community, hosting events here in the home, virtual events and themed days – no day is the same!

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Station Court Care Home
Mother's Day!
Ladies at Station Court care home have a perfect day of relaxation, pampering, love and appreciation, celebrating a day all about them.
Staff members hosted an extra-special Mother’s Day high tea afternoon with family members joining for scrumptious sweet and savoury delights and the bubbly flowing to toast to all our wonderful mothers.
After a morning of pamper sessions, flower arranging, family visits and lots of beautiful flower deliveries!
Happy Mother’s Day to all. We hope everyone had a day as special as they are.
Easter celebrations at Station Court
Staff and residents celebrated Easter with local children and their families joining the home Easter Eggstravaganza event.
Fun was had by everyone with a whole host of activities including creating Easter bonnets, challenging each other in egg and spoon races, playing Easter themed games, taking part in Easter egg hunt in our garden and meeting Station Courts bunnies Flopsy and Fluffy.
Nutrition and Hydration Week
A taste bud tantalising week has been had by all at Station Court Care Home in celebration of nutrition and hydration week.
Residents have enjoyed taking part in themed days such as Tropical Tuesday, Tasty Thursday and Shaking Saturday to highlight the importance of, encourage and support good nutrition and hydration for health and wellbeing.
Fun has been had at tropical parties with live entertainment. Residents have enjoyed creating their own fruity tartlets and protein bites in cooking clubs held throughout the week and have tried new and old favourites in tasting sessions with mocktails, shakes, smoothies and fruit at tasting trolley visits and ended the week treating their taste buds to fundae sundaes.
Ashington Adventures
Ladies and gents at Station Court Care Home have enjoyed being out and about in early spring.
In the homes walk and wheel club – ‘Ashington Adventurers’ residents have enjoyed the scenery and sunshine in groups and individually visiting local parks and gardens and taking the mini-bus for a spin to visit
Morpeth riverside for a stroll, spotting the first signs of spring – snowdrops and daffodils. Residents preferring to wait for warmer days have enjoyed connecting with the Bedlington community, joining the team at Mind Active for lunch and live music.
St Patrick's Day!
Station Court turned green as residents and staff got into the Irish spirit, celebrating St Patrick's day in style.
The care home was filled with fun and laughter as everyone shamrocked and rolled to Irish hits performed live by the brilliant Andy McGowan with pints of Guinness going down a treat as well as green-themed goodies of energising smoothies, lime luck mocktails and green fruity snack pots.
Afterward, residents embraced the luck of the Irish at shamrock bingo, winning themed tasty prizes.
Gents Pub Club
The weather may have been gloomy this month, but the gentlemen at Station Court Care Home took cover and had a great time visiting our local watering hole – ‘The Miners Pub’ at the home's monthly pub club.
Gents enjoyed catching up with old friends and connecting with one another, sharing stories of younger years, pit life and hobbies with one another over their favourite alcoholic beverages.

Community Café - 1st Wednesday of the month
We extend a warm invitation to you to join us at our monthly coffee café, come along and make new friends - all welcome.
