Activities at St Thomas Care Home
Our activities coordinator is dedicated to organising meaningful activities on an individual and group basis to fulfill the daily needs of our residents, as we understand how important mental and physical stimulation is for their wellbeing. Our activities are available to everyone who wants to take part and there is something different going on everyday. We often go out on day trips including visiting shopping centres, garden centres, evening meals at the local pubs, visits to local schools and also coffee mornings with other care homes. We have a wide range of entertainers that visit us at our home including musical therapists, Millers Ark Farm, pantomimes as well as our local salvation army and lots more. We encourage families to join us on trips out and also in home activities such as baking, arts and crafts, dancing and singing, we believe this is a great way for our residents to live an active and fun life here with us at St Thomas.

Life at St Thomas Care Home
Halloween preparations underway!
Preparations are in full swing for Halloween, to decorate the home we are painting our own pumpkins in bright orange and had a thoroughly messy afternoon. Many of the residents joined in at the table, by the end of the afternoon we had a complete tray which looked beautiful – a real team effort!
Looking forward to Spring!
Residents had a busy afternoon in the garden planting spring bulbs, warmly wrapped up in the autumn sunshine they filled the pots, digging deep into the bags compost and very neatly placing the bulbs into rows. We are all looking forward to a riot of colour in the spring!
Songs specially requested by our residents!
St Thomas is a regular on Hospital Radio Basingstoke with residents requests played for a full hour on Sunday afternoon! Its great residents can ask for songs which they love and not played on mainstream radio shows. Listen out for the next St Thomas request show live on Sunday 1st November
A fun afternoon of baking!
Residents enjoyed an afternoon of baking lemonade scones, the ingredients weighed, mixed, rolled and cut in delicious treats! Yes there was a flour on the floor and on our aprons most importantly plenty of fun and laughter
Delicious afternoon tea!
Residents enjoy the daily traditional afternoon tea trolley which visits every resident in the home around 3pm! It delivers a delicious choice of homemade cakes, biscuits, fresh fruit and smoothies, relatives also enjoyed it too and we look forward to them joining us again in the future.
