Activities at South Grange Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Gillian Conway
Gill has worked for South Grange since 1996. Gill's role in the home is ensuring our residents enjoy a fulfilling quality of life. The programme that Gill and her colleagues provide is stimulating, creative and varied.
Gill enjoys the time she spends with residents and families. The team welcomes any suggestions made by residents and family members in relation to activities.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at South Grange Care Home

Art Class
Here at South Grange we have a lot of creative residents and we regularly enjoy trips into the community as part of our life enrichment programme.
Residents, Joyce and Thelma and accompanied by the activities team were invited along to Broughty Ferry Parish Church where they host their art club every fortnight. The ladies both created their own master pieces which have taken pride of place on their walls.
We can’t wait to see what pieces of art we make next time!

Eden Project
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time exploring the Eden Project virtually - an educational charity and visitor attraction based in Cornwall, featuring sprawling outdoor gardens and breathtaking biomes that house the largest indoor rainforest in the world.
During the session, residents who joined were reconnected with nature through their senses, memories and stories. A big thank you to the community team at the Eden Project for the wonderful event.

Community Cafe
We had a lovely afternoon last Friday at our Community Cafe. Everyone enjoyed the social occasion with a fresh cream tea prepared by our chef which was washed down nicely with a cuppy.
The residents really enjoyed spending time with our friends from our community and we hope to see even more people joining in next time! A reminder that our next Community cafes will be hosted on the last Tuesday of every month starting from this month!

Beatles Karaoke Afternoon
Residents and staff had a brilliant afternoon celebrating Global Beatles Day. We sang a range of songs from, Hey Jude to Yellow Submarine! We even impersonated the Beatles with our facemasks Everyone had their best singing voices on too.

Everyone came together to Get Moving
We got moving and put the ‘fun’ into exercising with amazing activities. South Grange had a week of fun starting with a sports day with the nursery children, a Conga with residents, families and staff and an afternoon of chair dancing to Macarena, Hand Jive, YMCA and many more which all residents were able to participate in.
Our week was very busy and it was great to be able to do these activities outside in the sunshine.
