Activities at South Grange Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Nursery Picnic

Our beautiful garden is a great environment for our residents and nursery children to enjoy a variety of amazing outdoor activities. Everyone here at South Grange has made such special bonds with the children who visit regularly. School is fast approaching for our little friends and we decided a picnic in the garden would be a great way to celebrate the graduation of nursery!

Residents selected games and activities that the children enjoy and decorated the garden for their arrival.  Everyone enjoyed having a sports day with different stations of games and puzzles. Teams were formed, residents being the team captains for the children as they worked their way around each station. We aren’t sure who had more fun, the kids or the adults!

Life's a picnic at South Grange

South Grange care home in Monifieth went all out for National Picnic Week which is celebrated this year from June 17-25 with Residents inviting their local nursery children to celebrate the week with them.

RAF Hendon

Across our services we had a lovely time joining Rhiannon Watkinson from the RAF Museum London for an interactive talk exploring the exciting and innovative aviation history of Hendon.

Our residents were able to learn about the first flights from the fields at Hendon, the creation of the London Aerodrome and Battle of Britain pilots who flew from RAF Hendon.

The talk also included photographic and film material from the Museum’s archive. Residents across our homes had a fantastic time and we truly enjoyed the virtual experience.
