Activities at South Grange Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at South Grange Care Home

Resident realises dream

Resident, David had always wanted to see his two favourite football teams play against each other, so staff at the home made his wish a reality proving the old adage, it’s never too late.

Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making David’s dream come true when it was announced that Rangers v Manchester United were playing at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh as they knew how much it meant to him and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on David’s face when his dream was realised.

Staff first found out about David’s dream several years ago and, ever since then, they have been dedicated to helping him achieve it. David was also accompanied by nurse, Nicole who was there to witness this momentous occasion.

Much loved Senior Carer retires

After almost 10 years of continuous service at South Grange much-loved carer, Liz has decided to retire. Staff and residents at the home sent Liz off into a long and happy retirement with lots of presents, cards and well wishes.  Everyone at the home has very fond memories of Liz and she will be sadly missed.

Catherine Lappin, General Manager said: “Liz is one of those people who was born to care for others – she has such a huge heart and was greatly loved by the individuals living in the Seven Arches unit of South Grange Care Home. She was an inspiration to her colleagues and we will all miss her. We wish her all the best!”
