Activities at South Grange Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Strictly Come Dancing, Final Party

Residents and staff at South Grange got there glamorous party frocks on for our own Strictly Come Dancing, final party. We spent the afternoon sipping wine, eating cheese and crackers whilst watching the final dances.

Our maintenance, Sam and Paul made us our very own glittery score paddles. Which we wrote our own scores for each couple after they danced their hearts out.

What a great afternoon had by all!

Santa and Elf Visit

South Grange residents were treated to a special visit from Santa and his elf who brought along their Christmas tuck shop full of treats for everyone. There was a selection of custards, mince pies, chocolates and crisps to choose from. It wouldn’t be a proper visit without getting a photo too for the memories!

Everyone had a good laugh at the elf who was showing off her new party trick, if you see her again be sure to ask her to show you it!

Christmas food parcels to Local foodbank

Its that’s time of year again where South Grange and our local community has rallied around to donate Christmas food parcels to Dundee and Angus Foodbank to help local children and families in a time of need.

On handing over the food parcels, the volunteers were very thankful to be able to hand these out.

We would like to thank staff, residents and their family and friends for all the kind donations they have made towards this great cause.

Jumper Joy at South Grange

Residents and staff at South Grange started to bring the Christmas cheer into the home by wearing a Christmas jumper or t-shirt for the day.

Our winner, chosen by our general manager for the best jumper is Perce with his elf jumper,

Well Done Perce!

Meeting the Reindeers

Across our homes we got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.

Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers.

We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.

An afternoon at a local restaurant

Residents had a great afternoon at our local restaurant, Bell Tree in Monifieth for their festive lunch. The afternoon was full of laughter, crackers, party tricks and many jokes. Everyone enjoyed each course from the mouth-watering menu while discussing previous Christmas memories with friends and family.  It was a wonderful afternoon enjoyed by all!
