Activities at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Sharing is Caring

As Christmas is just around the corner and it is all about being thankful, caring and sharing! Shelburne Lodge would like to say a big Thank you to the High Wycombe Ambulance Service who had always looked after our residents and responded very promptly to our calls whenever they have been required. Our General Manager and Deputy Manager went to visit them to gift a Christmas Hamper to thank them for all their hard work and dedication.

Chocolate Treats

Here at Shelburne Lodge our residents have been busy making home made chocolate bars. Our residents included our colleagues who also had a sweet tooth! Did you know that the process of chocolate making from the tree to a chocolate bar can be broken down into seven basic steps: harvest, fermentation, drying, roasting, winnowing, refining, and tempering.

Once the chocolate bars were set we shared the chocolate bars around the home and all residents, friends and families enjoyed it!

Santa's Little Helpers

Here at Shelburne Lodge we have had a wonderful morning joined by Santas Little Helpers who visited residents in their rooms around the home singing Christmas carols to spread some festive cheer! The residents loved it and we all had such a great time together!

Employee of the Month

Announcing last month's Employee of the Month is Ade. Ade is one of our outstanding Care Assistants, he is a very hard working person, always going above and beyond to fulfil his daily duties and to make sure that the residents are well looked after. Ade loves spending time with residents and he always make sure they are safe and always trying his best to put a smile on their face. Congratulations Ade on this well-deserved award.

Christmas Carols

We would like to thank the Reception class that came and visited our residents last week. The residents enjoy the children singing carols and explaining what they have written on their lists to Father Christmas this year. The children had been busy at School that morning creating Christmas Cards to deliver to our residents, the cards certainly were a lovely surprise. We all had a fantastic day with a lot of giggles and smiles.
