Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home
The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.
Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.
Irene & Leah
Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.
Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.
Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.
Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Life at Rothsay Grange Care Home
Marcus Performs for Rothsay Grange
On the 1st March the residents of Rothsay Grange welcomed back Marcus, we had a great afternoon.
The residents sang along and chatted to him. We had some of our lovely residents get up and have a dance too.
As always we had some very yummy homemade cakes to eat along with tea a plenty.
Nutrition and Hydration Week
From 13th through to 19th March, Rothsay Grange residents were treated to different trolleys of goodies for Nutrition and hydration week.
This is just a few of the days goodies on offer.
They were also treated to cocktails and mocktails afternoon, smoothie making, Chocolate making and eating.
We chatted about the benefits of fruit and veggies in our diet. We also reminisced about baking for loved ones.
Mayor visits Rothsay Grange
We welcomed Councillor Alan Dowden of Test Valley, and his lovely wife Cllr Celia Dowden for a visit to the home last week. Cllr Alan met staff members and residents and was taken on a tour of the home and gardens to see all fantastic facilities Rothsay Grange Care Home has to offer.
It was a triple celebration for Rothsay Grange Care Home as not only that we were celebrating Christmas, it was also the birthday of Cllr Alan and the announcement of a GOOD overall rating from the CQC inspection that took place recently at Rothsay Grange Care Home.
The residents enjoyed chatting to Cllr Alan and his wife showing off their home, everyone shared a wonderful Christmas buffet with a home-made cake to wish Cllr Alan a Happy Birthday, courtesy of head chef Debbie while enjoying singing and dancing from Beth Hough.
Celebrating Rothsay Grange's 13th Anniversary
Excitement levels were through the roof at Barchester’s Rothsay Grange Care Home on Weyhill Road in Andover as residents, families and staff celebrated their 13th anniversary!
The 13th anniversary had a 60s theme and there was live entertainment from Lauren. There was a banquet, delicious homemade party food with a homemade ‘13’ cake, Pimms and Mojito cocktail for everyone to enjoy.
Bonfire Night
We had a fireworks night here at Rothsay Grange, we opened our home to the friends, family and the community for a night of fireworks and an hour of singing from 'The Two of Us'. Sue and Dee, the singers, are regulars of the home and do all the singing to help raise money for charities.
The residents had a great time! The fireworks started at 6pm then it was time to sing along with Sue and Dee. We had hot chocolate with all the trimmings and warm cookies. It was a great night and so nice seeing so many people join us.
Halloween at Rothsay
Our residents enjoyed a spooky Halloween party on 31st October. We had lots of treats for all to choose from, the dining room was very tastefully decorated with fun Halloween things.
We had Del sing for us, and the residents were up and dancing throughout the hour. One resident said how wonderful the singing was and the food was lovely.
The floor staff made up the residents faces, and they had a great day of fun and games with treats.
