Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

A Dream Coming True

This is a big dream coming true for our head of unit Annmarie, She wanted to come in on her day off and take her floor to the beach so we come up with a plan to do this. Floor staff also come along to enjoy the day meeting us there on their time off too.

The residents enjoyed fish and chips right on the beach with ice lolly s on the way home.

It was that nice some went off for a paddle too. We have one more trip for this floor then it will be the next two floors turn to feel the sand between their toes too.

It is a great felling bringing dreams to life but this is life at Rothsay Grange we aim to please.

National Fish & Chips Day

Residents and the activities team went out for fish and chips to mark one of the best days of the year.

The residents choose to go to the fish shop in the Drove and take them to Carlton lakes but sadly no parking! we all forgot the kids were off on half term. So we all made a decision for the driver to take us somewhere quite but scenic and did she do that YES.

We ended up on Param Down, what a beautiful place to sit and have your fish and chips. We meet  a lot of nice people walking their dogs or off on a jog who stopped for a chat.

The residents said they all had a great time Anna found some spent bullets and gave one each to those that wanted a souvenir of the day. The downs are part of Salisbury plain that the army use to train so you can find them very easy.
