Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Return of Mini Bus Trips

It is absolutely wonderful to be able to take our residents out for trips again.  We have all been waiting for this day and we are so thankful it is finally here. Joan and Phillip took a trip back to Romsey where Joan grew up. They loved their picnic on the bus prepared by the chef. Then room for an ice cream after too.

Creating friendships

Our residents become close and good friends here at Rothsay grange and always look out for each other. Here is Richard walking Doreen home after supper.

Keeping families together

Here at Rothsay Grange we are pleased to be able to offer a variety of types of visits to support safe opportunities for family and friends to be together. A loved one at Rothsay can have dedicated visits in their bedroom, use of our visiting suite as well as spend time in our beautiful gardens with friends and families enjoying high tea or even a glass of fizz!

Community Competition

Here at Rothsay Grange we always like to give something back and be part of our wider community. The home have just launched their own face book and want to give people the chance to win the contents of this beautiful hamper jammed full of locally sourced products. Please head over to their Facebook page to find details of how you can get involved.

Wall of Thanks

Staff and residents are always overwhelmed by the cards and letters they receive from the local community. They thought it was only fitting to make a wall dedicated to those that take time to send them. That way everyone can have a read and know how much receiving them means to everyone.

Baking Afternoon

A firm favourite activity with our residents is one of independence. Baking is just one activity that they make sure is on the agenda. It encourages our residents and helps with many motor skills. It also fills the home with delicious smells and means we all get sweet treats at the end of the day.
