Activities at Parley Place Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities Co-ordinator

I love being a friendly face for our residents.  A day in their lives should be filled with the care they deserve and enriched with activities.  We embrace each and every moment and make memories, I have many skills and a passion to provide our residents with the social interactions, lots of activities, smiles, laughter and fun.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Mark's Music Afternoon

What a fabulous afternoon we had yesterday when we welcomed Mark's music down to Parley for the first time.  We were toe tapping, singing, dancing and had such an uplifting afternoon.
I think we will be welcoming Mark back very soon!

Cookery Club

Residents were busy having fun mixing and whisking away yesterday making gorgeous lemon cup cakes, the smell from the freshly baking cakes was divine! I think we will have to double up the ingredients next time as they didn't last long before they were all gone!

Staff Bake Off

We had a fabulous afternoon raising money for Alzheimer's Society last week with a staff bake off. We had plenty of good entries from staff and also a donation from Mighty Oaks Day Nursery & Preschool - we raised £65 in total. We enjoyed entertainment by Nick Sellers for us all to sing and dance along to whilst enjoying tasting the array of cakes we had made.

The winner of the competition was crowned and well done goes to Kirsty and Chloe Stone for the cake featuring staff from the home and 2nd place to Brian our activities coordinator for his truly scrumptious cake.
