Activities at Overslade House Care Home
Our activities team is dedicated to organising a variety of events and activities and adapting them to suit the capabilities of those we support. Our goal is to improve quality of life by providing activities that are tailored to residents' own interests.
At Overslade House, we encourage local people and businesses to participate, as well as our staff and relatives, in order to keep them involved as part of a wider community. We strive to enhance the quality of both mental and physical stimulation through weekly minibus excursions, PAT dogs, quizzes, Zumba classes, arm chair line dancing, musical entertainers, pamper sessions and much more.
We definitely have something for everyone!
Julie Bateman
Hi, my name is Julie, and I'm the lead Activities Lead here at Overslade House. I've been an entertainer for over 25 years which has given me a great foundation for meeting people from various backgrounds, and has also helped nurture my social skills.
I love animals, and have two Dachshunds of my own who, like me, love meeting new people. I'm looking forward to bringing them in to meeting all our lovely residents here at Overslade.
I'm a bit of a social butterfly and enjoy visiting National Trust locations, attending the Theatre, singing and dining out. Over the years I've even been an 'extra' on TV!
Living life to the full is my motto, and I wish to instil this in all our residents, whatever your ability there is something new to learn or try. Life is for enriching and enjoyment. I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. Life at Overslade House Care Home
ABBAlutely Fantastic Performance
ABBAlutely Fantastic! Tickled Pink Productions joined the residents of Overslade House to perform their fabulous groovy show to our residents. The performance was full of sequinned costumes and a story-line linked to around 20 ABBA classics from the 70s.
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed joining in; singing and dancing from the first scene to the finally. Thank you Tickled Pink Productions Company for the music!
Meet Our Manager Day
On Saturday 3rd July during our Meet the Manager Event, our residents and guests were treated to a wonderful outdoor performance from the extremely talented, and local young singer; Thea Watson.
Singing songs from across the decades; Thea had everyone joining in, dancing and swaying to her beautiful tones. We're looking forward to seeing her at Overslade again very soon.
Father's Day Smiles
Father's Day at Overslade House saw our residents singing and swaying to the beautiful Gemma from Sentimental Journey Sentimental Journey as she sang all their favourites.
During the day one of our wonderful lady residents helped the team delivery a special gift to each of our gentleman in celebration of their special day.
Jigsaw and Bowling Fun
Weekends at Overslade House see our residents enjoying the things they love. Our Webb Ellis bowling team went for a 'strike' during the next match in their tournament, whilst the ladies on Rupert Brooke tackled, and completed a 250 piece jigsaw!

Welcome Back 'Gift of Years'
Our little singing group we're so pleased this week to welcome back Angela from Gift of Years. Her virtual sessions have been amazing over the past year however, having her singing and playing from the garden was something special!
Jigsaws in the Sun
Yesterday Denisa and our residents had fun in the sun, taking some of our 1:1 activities outside; completing a jigsaw together is a great way of 'getting to know you' and make friends.
It was wonderful to see long may the sunshine last!
