Activities at Oak Grange Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Pancake Day

Pancake Day

We had a flippin’ good afternoon on Shrove Tuesday and enjoyed the fresh lemon juice and sugar on our pancakes.

Burns Night

Burns Night

We celebrated Burns Night with some Scottish music on the record play, poems, a quiz and, of course, a wee dram of whiskey!

Musical Entertainment

Musical Entertainment

We were joined by Alan, who played the trumpet, and his wife, Sheena, who sang for us. Thank you to both!

Rise & Shine

Rise & Shine

We welcome everyone with a nice hot cup of tea or coffee and biscuits at 10:30 a.m. on a weekday. Then we do our seated chair exercises or play skittles, balloon volleyball, or whatever tickles our fancy, followed by a reminiscence chat about the week’s weekly Sparkle magazine. We have lots of fun and there is something for everyone’s ability

Christmas at Oak Grange

Merry Christmas to our musical entertainer, Sue Walker, who played all our favourite Christmas songs on the clarinet and saxophone. Also, a big thanks to our Minister, Mark, from St Columbus Church – he gave us a lovely church service with carols to sing together. We gave him our Christmas food bank donation to pass on to the food bank on our behalf.

Christmas Spirit

Christmas Spirit

We had an afternoon of old fashioned Christmas music with Chris & Joan, which made us feel all Christmassy.
