Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Roni Paynter
Hi, My name is Roni and I am the Lead Activities coordinator here at Oak Grange, the wellbeing and happiness of each resident are at the forefront of everything we do, and I am committed to upholding these values as your activities coordinator.
Having worked in various care settings and possessing a passion for enhancing the lives of older adults. I bring a wealth of experience and creativity to the role. My primary objective is to create a vibrant and engaging activities programme that caters to the unique interests, abilities and preferences of each resident.
Together, we will embark on a journey of discovery, enjoyment and companionship. From engaging social events and group outings to stimulating cognitive exercises and creative pursuits, our goal is to ensure that there is always something for everyone to look forward to. Furthermore, I am here not only as an Activities coordinator but also as a friend and confidant, I encourage open communication, suggestions, and feedback from each resident and their families.

Life at Oak Grange Care Home
Mother's Day at Oak Grange
Residents at Barchester Healthcare’s Oak Grange care home, in Mollington, celebrated Mother’s Day with some special gifts from our volunteers, Alexandra and Isabella and the homes activity coordinator, Claudia and her family. The home was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and bunting for the occasion.
Staff at Oak Grange Care Home arranged flowers for every resident (provided by Claudia and Oliver Munoz), music and games, afternoon tea, special hand-made cards from Dulce Bazan and Alexandra & Isabella, lovely cupcakes donated by George, discussion about how the role of the mother has changed, reminiscences about the residents’ childhood. Chef at the home, Simon Burns prepared a special menu to mark the day.
General Manager, Karen Fitzgerald said: “We’ve all had a really lovely day. Although Mother’s Day has had to be a bit different this year, our mums have had video calls with family/we have made good use of our visiting suite to make sure lots of our residents had a visit with their loved ones.”
Real Bread Week
To celebrate “Real Bread Week”, Residents at Oak Grange were busy baking bread during the morning. Residents also enjoyed sampling a variety of breads including Focaccia, Irish Batch Bread, Seeded Bread, White and Brown Bloomer Bread, Soft Cheese Bloomer Bread, Cranberry, Raisin & Pecan Knot, Baguette, Ciabatta, Sourdough and Multigrain Bread, freshly prepared by their virtual volunteers, Alexandra & Isabella. Some breads were kindly delivered to the home by a wonderful volunteer, George
It was an undoubtedly busy morning and a relaxed afternoon enjoying making and tasting bread with some wine.
Creative writing
Residents at Oak Grange have a weekly activity called Easy Poetry - A form of artistic expression draws on the imagination to convey meaning through the use of a picture in which they express themselves describing feelings, emotions, memories and put them in writing, creating a fantastic weekly poem.
Valentine's Day
Our residents have been sharing the love at Oak Grange Care Home this Valentines week. Residents have been posing for the camera in our very own Valentines Day photoshoot. Let's spread the love, this Valentine’s Day let our family and friends how much they meant to us. Happy Valentine’s Day from your friends at Oak Grange.
Resident cheers on his favourite team
At Oak Grange Care Home, we care about our resident’s interests, hobbies, past and present and for one Resident, Terrace he remains an avid follower of his favourite football team. With this in mind, we set Terrace up in the lounge to watch the game with his non-alcoholic beer and he was in great spirits as he cheered them on from the comfort of his chair. Being a massive fan of Liverpool, it was something that he just can’t miss!
Home celebrate Year of the Ox
Staff and residents at Oak Grange Care home in Mollington welcomed in the Year of the Ox with a day of themed celebrations and activities.
Inspired by Chinese culture and traditions, Residents at Oak Grange had a Chinese themed party with music, they enjoyed the Lion and Dragon Dance prepared by the homes Life Enrichment team. The home was decorated with red hanging lanterns as Residents learnt all about the traditions and superstitions of Chinese New Year. Head chef, Simon Burns cooked up an oriental feast for lunch and residents enjoyed the delicious food washed down with pots of Chinese tea.
Karen Fitzgerald, General Manager of Barchester’s Oak Grange Care Home said: “We have had a brilliant day, the home looks absolutely wonderful decorated all in red and we all had such fun finding out what animal we are, the associated traits and reading each other’s horoscopes. The residents loved watching videos of traditional lion and dragon dances too.
