Activities at Moors Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.

I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.

When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.

I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Minibus trip to the seaside

Residents asked if we could take them to the seaside and we did exactly that. We had a wonderful trip to Bournemouth Beach, had a walk along the promenade and took in the marvelous views and even had a look at the upside down house!

We finished our trip with a visit to the Prom Cafe and all enjoyed some tea and cake. Residents all shared memories of their trips to the beach when they were younger with their own families.

A really fun afternoon enjoyed by all and we look forward to going to the beach again when it gets a little bit warmer.

Afternoon tea and performer Steve Linne

We had the wonderful Steve Linne come into the home for our afternoon tea party and what a great party it was. Residents were singing, dancing and swaying their arms along to the many songs Steve performed for us and as you can see in the photos they all had so much fun.

Residents also got to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea prepared by our fantastic dining team and a firm favourite was the homemade scones that were still a bit warm when they came out.

Minibus trip to Burley in the New Forest

What better way to spend a sunny day then to go out in our lovely minibus. Residents were asked where they would like to go and they said that they wanted to drive around the beautiful New Forest. We organised the trip for them and also enjoyed tea and cake at the team rooms in Burley.

It was a lovely morning out and we look forward to more outings to see the local hot spots in the area.

Meet the Manager Cheese and Wine Evening

We held a Meet the Manager Cheese and Wine evening to introduce our new manager Gemma to our resident family members as well as businesses in the local area. Everyone was able to talk to Gemma and the team to find out more about Gemma who was previously Deputy Manager here and also the home. It was a very relaxed evening with lovely refreshments that everyone was able to enjoy.

The Launch of The Chitter Chatter Club.

This week we launched the start of our Chitter Chatter Club here in the home and welcomed founder Anne Anderson from The Chitter Chatter Club to attend with our residents and members from the community.

The Chitter Chatter Club was set up to enable members of the public a place where they could meet and talk to people who may be on their own, and the chance to make new friends as well.

It was a lovely first club and residents as well as the community enjoyed being able to talk over a cup of tea and cake.

We look forward to our next Chitter Chatter Club here on Wednesday 3rd April.
