Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Balloon tennis with our volunteers
We had our lovely volunteers Geraldine, Adele and Dee come in to help and support our residents with our daily activities in the home. This time we thought we would have a bit of fun and play balloon tennis. It was great fun for everyone but also a really good way to have a bit of exercise and keep active.
We really do appreciate the hard work our volunteers do for us all here in the home thank you.

Minibus outing to Aunt Fannys
We had a wonderful bus trip to Aunt Fannys Farm Shop & Café in Wimborne. The sun was shining and inside there must have been over 200 different tea pots all hanging in the ceiling which we all looked at and tried to find any similar to what we had in our own homes. We were able to enjoy looking at the beautiful plants they had and then finished off the trip with tea and cake.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back again to visit.

Gardening club
In this week’s gardening club we made the most of the glorious sunshine to get our seedlings out of our greenhouse and into the ground to start growing stronger, we planted, butternut squash, sunflowers and wild flower seeds.
We look forward to seeing them grow and bloom.

Val's Birthday
Yesterday we helped to celebrate the wonderful Val's birthday here in the home. We had a tea party with residents coming along to wish Val a happy birthday and also get to enjoy tea and the homemade birthday cake prepared by our fantastic dining team.
Happy birthday Val from all at Moors Manor.

Visit to Riding for the Disabled Wilton Group
We like to make our residents wishes come true here in the home and this is exactly what we managed to do. On Friday we visited Riding for the Disabled - Wilton Group.
Jenny used to have her own horses when she was younger and enjoyed going on horse rides, Rita wanted to go and visit the horses and get up close to them.
The staff and volunteers here all do such an amazing job and were so happy to show us around and for Jenny and Rita to make some new friends. We then all enjoyed tea and cake afterwards and found out more about the wonderful work they do and we plan to visit them again very soon.

Steve Linn performs in the home
We had the fantastic Steve Linn come in to the home to entertain all our residents and as you can see from the photos we had a very fun afternoon. Residents were singing and dancing to the songs Steve performed from the earlier decades and having a lot of fun and laughter.
We look forward to Steve coming back again soon.
