Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Steve Linn entertains
Residents enjoyed an afternoon of grins with live music performance from the fantastic Steve Linn. Steve performed a selection of classic hits from Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Cliff Richard and many more.
Residents joined in with the singing, and clapped along as the singer performed their finale song Sweet Caroline which had everyone singing and dancing along. The hospitality team at the home also provided a spread of sweet treats for guests to enjoy during the show.
One resident said “I haven’t heard some of these songs in many years. The classics never go out of style!”
We look forward to Steve performing again very soon.

Cocktails in memory lane
Residents on our memory lane had a wonderful afternoon of cocktails and mocktails on their balcony looking out onto the amazing Avon Heath Country Park. The sun was shining and it was a lovely social afternoon for everyone to enjoy a tipple while also sharing stories and getting to know each other that little bit more.

Cheese and Prosecco Afternoon
Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together in the home to enjoy a Cheese and Prosecco afternoon that we held in the home’s grounds.
The hospitality team at Moors Manor served a selection of delicious cheeses, which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.
Guests included friends and family to the residents and staff at the home, and the local community who all attended the event. The team at the home also invited local performer Mark Busell who performed a range of classical and pop hits, which many of the guests sang along to.
Resident, Marianne, said, “I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon surrounded by lots of great people. Thankfully the weather held out until we finished. Staff did a great job, not just on the day, but organising the event and getting everyone together.”
Gemma Chalkley, General Manager at the home, said: “Staff at Moors Manor are dedicated to making sure that the home is a hub of the local community, and this event, along with all their hard work, has definitely paid off. It was a resounding success!”

Art club.
Residents enjoyed an afternoon together being rather creative with the designs we got from our adult colouring books. Residents found the afternoon very relaxing and therapeutic and also enjoyed having a lovely catch up to find out more about each other as we have had quite a few new residents move into the home.

Bingo time
Eyes Down!! It's Bingo time! Residents had a fun afternoon this week enjoying a couple of games of bingo and all were enjoying shouting out clickety click and legs eleven when they came up. Veena, Betty, Liz and Barry all were worthy winners and were very happy with their prizes that they won.

Gardening club
Residents have been keeping an eye on the vegetables we had planted and this week Lynda and Rita enjoyed harvesting the produce. We had very large radishes and runner beans. Our chef Boris came outside to see what we had and also gave tips to the ladies on how to chop the veg as well.
We look forward to seeing what the kitchen team create with our produce.
