Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Scrabble with Steve
Today it was all about getting everyone's thinking caps working!! We had Steve come to the home today with his giant scrabble board for residents to enjoy this classic game. There were lot's of good words being created with the letters that they had and some earning triple points as well.
We always enjoy our visits with Steve and look forward to him coming again soon.

Love to Move class with Katie
We had the lovely Katie from Love to Move Dorset here for one of her seated exercise classes. Residents really enjoy doing gentle exercise and in a few photos they were all smiling as well. Exercise is good for the body and mine and we like to keep our residents as active as we can here. We look forward to Katie coming in again soon.

Ivan's 90th Birthday
We had a very special day here in the home as our lovely Ivan celebrated his 90th Birthday. We held an afternoon tea party where his family and friends also joined us for the celebrations. The dining team made scones with jam and cream and a rather spectacular Victoria sandwich which were enjoyed by everyone. For entertainment we had the wonderful Bournemouth Concert Brass who played a selection of songs which had everyone singing and tapping their toes along too.
Happy 90th Birthday Ivan from everyone here at Moors Manor.

Summer Fair
Well the weather may not have been on our side but that did not dampen the fun we had at our Summer Fair. We had fantastic entertainment from Bee Chumley Vocalist and Mark Bussell who both performed at the home for the first time and what wonderful performances they both provided. We then had Mr Pop's Balloons who worked the rooms creating some wonderful displays from animals, flowers and even the little mermaid, again this was the first time he came to the home and we will definitely have him come back to us. We had a variety of stalls including Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs which we also held a raffle and raised money for this wonderful charity. Our dining team did an amazing job and served a giant paella for everyone to enjoy as well.
A fantastic afternoon enjoyed by residents, family members and the wider community. Thank you all for coming along.

Fun in the garden
With the recent beautiful weather we have been having residents have been making the most of getting in the sunshine and sitting out in our beautiful gardens. We decided to also enjoy some ice cream to keep everyone cool and resident Robert was on hand to take everyone's orders.

Balloon tennis with our volunteers
Today we had our wonderful volunteers Geraldine, Dee and Adele who made a request to play the balloon tennis with the residents as it is so much fun. As you can see from the photos there was lots of laughter and plenty of fun had.
Volunteers are such a big part of life here at Moors Manor and we are so grateful to Geraldine, Dee and Adele for all that they do.
