Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Andy performs with his accordion
We had the wonderful Andy and his accordion come to the home this week to entertain our residents and as you can see he is very popular with a lot of our residents wanting to come and watch. Andy played a selection of songs which had everyone singing and on a couple of occasions dancing as well.
Music brings so much joy and laughter and we really do love Andy's performances in the home.

Love to Move class with Katie
We had Katie from Love to Move Dorset in for her seated exercise class which had the residents all joining in and having lots of fun as well. Residents enjoy these classes as it is a great way for them to be active and most importantly to have fun together.
We look forward to Katie coming back again soon.

Board games in the garden with our Volunteers
We had our lovely volunteers from Ashley Heath WI - The Ashley Belles come in to the home and as it was such a lovely sunny day we decided to bring the activities to our garden. Everyone all enjoyed playing board games from draughts, noughts and crosses, scrabble and connect four. Some of our residents were more competitive than others but it was great to see everyone having fun and socialising together.

French Boules in the garden
Residents enjoyed a game of French Boules and from the photos you can see they all took it very seriously and were rather competitive to see who could be as close to the jack at the end of the game. Boules is a great game to improve your hand eye coordination too.
Residents enjoy their group games here in the home as it brings everyone together.

New Exercise Class with Dan
Earlier this week residents enjoyed a new seated exercise class with Dan. Dan had all the residents doing gentle exercise and really getting their coordination going. Dan played upbeat music which also had everyone singing along too as well.
Residents really enjoyed this new class and we look forward to Dan coming in again soon.

Knitting Club
Our ladies have been enjoying our knitting club in the home. It has given everyone the chance to do a hobby that they really enjoy, socialise and also make wonderful items as well. The ladies all shared stories of their knitting memories from childhood to adult life, it was wonderful to hear the many different stories and learn more about each other.
