Activities at Moors Manor Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

The Launch of The Chitter Chatter Club.

This week we launched the start of our Chitter Chatter Club here in the home and welcomed founder Anne Anderson from The Chitter Chatter Club to attend with our residents and members from the community.

The Chitter Chatter Club was set up to enable members of the public a place where they could meet and talk to people who may be on their own, and the chance to make new friends as well.

It was a lovely first club and residents as well as the community enjoyed being able to talk over a cup of tea and cake.

We look forward to our next Chitter Chatter Club here on Wednesday 3rd April.

Celebrating Robert's 90th Birthday

At the weekend we help celebrate Robert's 90th Birthday here in the home. Robert had a wonderful afternoon with family and residents where we put on a party for him with entertainer Dave who sang a variety of songs that had everyone singing along too. We finished off the party with a beautiful birthday created by the dining team which everyone very much enjoyed.

Happy 90th Birthday Robert from everyone here at Moors Manor.

Baking Club

Residents do enjoy a bit of baking here in the home, this week's culinary delight was chocolate rice crispy cakes which had residents all get involved with the mixing, dishing up into each cake case and adding sprinkles on top to finish them off.

All the residents were reminiscing about their days when they would do this with their own families and then all got to enjoy eating them later on.

Flower Arranging

We had our wonderful volunteers again to help with flower arranging. This time residents made individual posy arrangements with a selection of flowers in pretty pink and lilac and a selection of foliage to compliment the flowers.

There was a lot of concentration to get the posy arrangements looking just right but everyone had a lovely time in our activities room and were all really pleased with what they created.

Happy Birthday Maisie from everyone here at Moors Manor.

Moors Manor 3rd Anniversary

Well we certainly know how to put on a party here at Moors Manor. We celebrated the homes 3rd Anniversary and what a wonderful time it has been for the home.

The home was full to the brim with residents, their families and members of the community who all came along to help us celebrate. We had entertainment from Mike Sidaway and Steve Linney who had everyone singing and dancing. The dining team served a wonderful cream tea with prosecco which went down very well for everyone too.

Here is to many more happy years at Moors Manor.
