Life at Magnolia Court Care Home

International Dog Day !

We love Waffle !!

To mark International Dog Day we had a VIP (Very Important Pet) come to visit Magnolia Court Care Community. Waffle the adorable Cavapoo, also know as a Cavoodle in some circles, and her human friend Sarah spent time with residents and they were a huge hit with everyone.

Stroking a pet has been shown to lower blood pressure and the heart rate, bringing a calming and relaxing effect but most of all pets bring joy and love and there was lots of that.

Waffle is a cute bundle of energy and fun and we loved having her visit. Thank you Waffle and Sarah, we can't wait to see you again.

World Photography Day 2021 !

World Photography Day 2021

To mark World Photography Day, staff and residents at Magnolia Court care home in Golders Green were treated to a live streaming photography masterclass courtesy of top professional photographer, Damian Bailey.

Damian’s talk explained how he goes about capturing special moments and what makes a great photo in terms of technique and composition.

Disposable camera at the ready and with Damian's tips, residents put their photography skills to the test. Lots of our residents are keen photographers and were in their element!

As the years have passed our residents have built up an impressive photo collection and added photos from todays photography which they were only too proud to share.

Entertainment at Magnolia Court !

Entertainment at Magnolia Court !

Resident's, their family and friends enjoyed a delicious BBQ in our lovely courtyard garden served by our head chef Alfred and his team. There was a lovely selection of food to fit all dietary requirements accompanied by hot beverage, fruit punch or a glass of fizz.

Our life enrichment team arranged an afternoon of activities and entertainment that included a wonderful show, Enchanted Dreams, performed by JaZanne Arts - The show was full of colour, music and reminiscence.

A wonderful afternoon. Thank you to every one that joined us.

Time for Ice Cream !

Time for ice cream !

Residents and Team members were delighted when our local ice cream van stopped by. The favourite of the day was definitely an ice cream with a chocolate flake. Not only were they delicious but helped to cool us down in the beautiful weather we have been having.

We sat in our beautiful garden enjoying our ice creams reminiscing about the ice cream van. How originally they had been hand drawn and horse drawn carts and the excitement of children when they heard the ice cream vans song ringing out.

Lovely ice cream and lovely memories.

Community Professionals Breakfast

Magnolia Court's Professionals Breakfast !!

A beautiful morning for our team at Magnolia Court to connect with our local community. We met in our courtyard garden and enjoyed delicious pastries and fresh fruit with tea, coffee and iced juice. All prepared by Head Chef Alfred and his team.

General Manager Octavian said "We believe it is so very important for us to be connected with our local community and are always keen to build new relationships with local professionals and look forward to forming links to support and complement each other'.

Nelson Mandela Day.

Residents and team members at Magnolia Court in Hampstead celebrated Nelson Mandela Day on 18 July in honour of the great man’s birthday. Residents attended a historical talk about his life and read excerpts from Mandela’s famous book ‘A Long Walk to Freedom’.

It was a truly interesting and inspiring day.
