Meet the team
Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
Welcome to Magnolia Court, I am the General Manager here.
I have worked in the NHS for many years and retired as Director of Mental Health. After my career in the NHS I took up a position for seven years as Director of Care/Clinical Services in the largest home in the UK consisting of 255 residents. I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1973, followed by mental health training RMN a year later. I have many years of clinical and managerial experience at a senior level in different settings and also completed a degree (BA Hons) in Health Service Management and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
I have a great passion for providing excellent care across a range of care groups especially older people and those living with dementia and End of Life Care, evidenced by achieving Status for Gold Standards Framework for End of Life Care in my previous position.
I have 2 years experience as an Activities Coordinator. I've worked in two different Barchester homes, which are Wilsmere and Bushey. I achieved my NVQ level 2 with NAPA recently and I'm looking forward to learning more. I am very happy working at Magnolia Court and enjoy putting a smile on resident's faces.
I have been working as an Activities Coordinator in care homes since 2002, starting my career at Four Seasons, then joining Barchester in 2014. I was awarded a Great British Care Award in 2013 and was a finalist at the National Care Awards in the same year, as well as being a finalist in the 2014 Great British Care Awards. I have a natural love for the elderly and enjoy every single day in their company.
Non-clinical Deputy Manager, Home Trainer
My name is Zhivka Peeva and I am a Non-clinical Deputy Manager and Home Trainer here at Magnolia Court. I have been working here for 10 years and 11 years with Barchester. What I enjoy most about this role is providing a high standard level of care for the people who need our help during their life journey, facing every day challenges, and making positive changes to people’s lives. Having been with the company for 10 years, I received my 10 years Service Award which made me feel very proud as I was pleased to be appreciated for the work I do.
Dorota Clark has been a Finance Administrator at Magnolia Court in London, part of the Barchester Healthcare Care Homes group for 15 years.
After graduating from Poznan University with master degree in Chemistry and working for 7 years in a scientific research Institute she decided to explore work opportunities in the west. Dorota emigrated from communist Poland 35 years ago and has worked in England ever since.
During her secondary school years she devoted herself to professional ice skating, achieving the rank of number four in Poland. She was offered the sought after position of dancing in Holiday on Ice, a show that toured the world. However her passion for higher education won over and university beckoned.
John O'Meara RGN
My name is John O’Meara and I am a Nurse at Magnolia Court and have been working here for 9 months. What I enjoy most about my role is caring for and interacting with the residents on a day to day basis and ensuring we meet a high standard of care. I was the first person to receive Magnolia Court’s ‘Employee of the Month’ award for which I was very pleased having gone that extra mile for the residents. An interesting fact about me is that I am also a musician and have composed and performed in two bands - I also volunteer to play for staff at the staff parties!
My name is Hema and I work as a Senior Care Assistant at Magnolia Court and have done for almost five years. What I enjoy most about working as a care assistant is making the residents very happy and always being there for them. I was thrilled to win Magnlolia Court’s ‘Employee of the Month’ award having received very positive feedback from residents, staff and family members. I was also very proud when I completed my NVQ and gained a new qualification. In my spare time, I am a beautician and this is one of my favourite hobbies having worked as a beautician in my home country, Nepal.
