Dementia Care

Leeming Bar Grange has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.

Our bedrooms are all furnished with your comfort in mind, and we offer two communal lounges, four dining rooms, a conservatory, and a reminiscence room. We also have an acre of wonderfully landscaped gardens that are perfect for fresh air and socialising.

Highly trained chefs prepare fresh, quality, and nutritional food on site, and residents are able to choose from a daily menu. Particular requests are taken into account and special dietary requirements will be always be catered for. Residents may eat together or in their rooms, depending on their preference.

The Leeming Bar team of highly qualified, attentive staff pride themselves on caring for not only residents, but loved ones as well. You’ll find that we’re ideally situated to meet a wide range of care needs, from simply helping with day-to-day living to assisting with more complex care requirements.

Michelle Keep

General Manager

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I am the General Manager here at Leeming Bar Grange. Welcome to our website!

I have worked in care since October 2000, with nearly 20 years’ experience behind me in residential care, nursing care and challenging behavior. I worked at Boroughbridge Manor, one of our sister homes, since June 2013, starting as a carer and eventually progressing to Senior Carer, Team Leader and then to Deputy Manager in 2017.

As I have progressed, I have completed my level 2 & 3 in Health & Social Care and level 3 and level 5 advanced diploma in Management & Leadership. I am kind and empathic and continue to focus on providing a person-centered approach to the care that we deliver in Leeming Bar.
